About a aging, divorced woman of two children who murders her mother. I think the author was trying to explore the complex relationship between parents and children, what it is like to live with the mentally ill, and other deep issues, but she missed her mark. I never really identified or sympathized with the main character, and I was often perplexed at her actions. Disappointing after "The Lovely Bones."

Harry is confronted by a serial killer who's marker is a snowman. Married women with children are the targets, and this is linked to some medical problem to do with paternity/genetic diseases. The killer seems to be setting the agenda, and has targetted Harry in some personal way. Finally, Rakel is threatened and her life is in danger, as well as her son's Oleg's. Hole wins in the end, but loses a finger to the killer. Good thriller, perhaps a bit too much plot, but very inventive.

Quick story, almost a short story. The book made me think about religion and the hypocrisy that sometimes accompanies it. The main character Zeck grows up in a Christian pacifist family yet his Reverend father beats him to purify him. Zeck comes to the battle school and is ostracized because his strong religious convictions and the chasm it creates.

This is overall a great book. I thought his sexual coming of age stuff that he shared was kind of gratuitous...so that is why I gave it four stars instead of five. I liked everything else about it.

I may be a tad biased (because I WROTE the thing . . .) but I love this story. It's totally different from my other books. I played with it off and on for years, and every time I opened the file, I was pleasantly surprised that I still liked it and thought it was a great story. It was inspired by "The Timpanogos Storyteller" painting. Great for middle grade readers especially.

Very well written horror NOVEL :D I couldnt guess the ending, so a plus point to that fact. Judes, Marybeths and Annas characters along with Craddocks were also complete, really ''alive''. I was way better than I was expecting, plus better than my first book from Stephen King, which really suprised me. Now, I don't doupt this novels place on the first horror stories list on this site C:
