This book was very interesting. She did not shed light on the working poor in America for me. I am well aware of the plight to find affordable housing, working multiple jobs and people who work every day but live at the poverty level or below. She wrote a compelling story and it was interesting to follow her around the country. The people who work in retail, restaurants and cleaning services have it rough. It is a difficult life. It seems we have a caste system just like other countries do.

I read it several years ago, but I remember liking, among other facets, the strong connections the author makes regarding the social and economic impacts of consuming fast food. I would not recommend the movie.

This is a great book about lesbian interpretations of musicals and their performers. The focus is on Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, Julie Andrews, and Barbra Streisand. I think the work on Martin and Merman is the most fleshed out and convincing. Stacey Wolf's writing style is excellent: intelligent, academic, but readable!

i was suprised but i really like it, despite it being a romance (now the only book i am going to have up here is a romance..compelling, eh?) still...thoughful and tricky with the crafting of the text. it was light and quick but i wanted them to keep keeping on after the book was done...

This book was fun. It wasn't always laugh-out-loud funny, like '30 Rock' is, but it was insightful and intelligent, and made me appreciate Tina Fey that much more than I already did. And still funny. Because it was, after all, written by Tina Fey.
