an okay book. entertaining and well-written, but the plot was sketchy and the"big reveal" in the end didn't pay off. I liked the characters, but I was never that invested in the stakes of the mystery. a good summer read.

The author's lack of punctuation makes this book a little hard to read, at least for me. The perspective of the reader is a little interesting though.

I enjoyed this book. As many people have said the beginning was slow and I also think it could have ended sooner. That being said I think it was a great story and I really like Salander. I will be sure to read the other books in the series.

This book showed a really great view of Africa; especially the struggle between maintaining the tribes' religion and the white man's religion, Christianity. It's not a difficult read. I had to read it for a class and enjoyed it even though it's not something I would normally pick up myself.

this book kind of annoyed me, for some reason. it has a really interesting subject, and i like all the books that she taught about, but for some reason the literary criticism part of the book just didn't mesh well with her descriptions of day-to-day life. in fact, i feel like she never really brought the realities of life in iran were kind of lost in the midst of all her proselytizing. disappointing.
