this was a very good sequel to an excellent book. The main character is incredible, i loved her. i would have liked to it to be a little cleaner, but all in all it was very good

No drop-off in quality from The Hunger Games to Catching Fire. I am glad I discovered these books after Suzanne Collins finished them all so that I don't have to wait for the next book. Grabbing Mockingjay tonight and will get started on it ASAP.

This is the best book I have read, ever. Even though it is a graohic novel it beats all the 'normal' books I have read. It has nothing bad with it, everything is so perfect. I like books where it's the same world as we live in, but something different. Like the Trueblood series (I think it's a bad show actually) where vampires are normal, just as normal as any other person, but they are like a different race. So it is the complete same world as we live in now, but with vampires. Watchmen is the same thing only with superheroes. :)

A very vicious and very funny look at the lives of the aristocratic layabouts in England during the 1930s. Tony last is a minor noble whose wife Brenda is from the gentry. They consider themselves poor although they have 15 servants in their huge, ugly pile of a Victorian house set on farmland in Sussex. To the reader they are dull and without merit but the Lasts are intriguing to the abominably ignorant and indolent members of their set in London, if only because they are not around much. Brenda embarks on an affair with the only person more tedious than her husband and the mental and emotional agony that results are wonderous to behold. Waugh at his diabolical best.

** spoiler alert ** I picked this book up for a few reasons: 1. The internet told me it's a good book. 2. The cover was pretty. Haven't you heard that it's recommended to judge books by their covers? 3. The blurb by Stephen King. Stephen King knows how to tell a story. So when he calls a book "One Gorgeous Read," I will read it. 4. It's a book about a book, and I love books about books. From the first chapter I could tell that this book was going to become one of my favorites. I desperately wish the Cemetery of Forgotten Books was a real place. Although if it was, I might spend half my life looking for it, and the other half exploring it. Now that I think about it, that would be a pretty great life. The writing in this book was stunning. Zafon is a genius and this book was beautiful. I cannot even imagine how incredible this book would be in the original Spanish. This book is so good it makes me want to learn a new language. I felt the streets of Barcelona come to life in my mind, and every character was someone I cared for. It takes an incredible author to make you sympathize with the villain, but somehow by the end of the book I felt some compassion for the same characters that I was passionately hating a few chapters back. This book is incredible and I would recommend it to all book lovers. Even if, for some unknown reason, you hate the story, the imagery and the beauty of the writing will draw you in. And before I conclude this glowing review, let me just say: Fermin Romero de Torres is the best character ever.
