This is the third book in this wonderful series. These stories are over a hundred years old, but with good messages for today.bB What wonderful heartwarming stories, my kids love to have them read to them. You will find that Pa better listen to Ma when she has her heart set on something. You will meet their great Dog Pep, and how he can spell! You will be chuckling with many of the things that Mable and Sarah Jane seem to get into. Be prepared for a few tissues, but also with a good many belly laughs! Enjoy! I received this book from the Publisher, and was not required to give a positive review.

This is the book wherein we read of Laura and Almanzo and their growing romance. Almanzo drives Laura back and forth (12 miles each way) to a 2-month school in a small settlement, and Laura is miserable in the position of teacher and boarder at the home of a seriously mentally-unstable woman. Second only to the discomfort of that situation is the fact that she's uncomfortable with the idea that perhaps the whispers of her students are true and that Almanzo really IS trying to be Laura's "beau." After all the trips through 20-to-40-below-zero weather, Laura tries to tell Almanzo that the sleigh rides are over--but of course, he doesn't give up, and Laura's feelings finally get the better of her. In the end, we have a sweet and innocent retelling of their engagement and wedding. By today's standards it might seem like a very prim version of a romance; but for readers who know what real love is about, this tale is the epitome of sweetness combined with depth. A wonderful "unofficial" end to the series (if you don't count the add-on book of "The First Four Years," which is a bit more tragic and dark, but also worthwhile). Hurray for Laura Ingalls (Wilder)!

was not my most favorite read. found it to be disjointed, all over the place.....i think i need a more cohesive story. there were some great passages though, but mostly struggled to get through this.

The concepts covered in WARFIGHTING apply not only to warfare but to business, sports, and life in general. As a former Marine, this was (and still is) required reading and a required mindset. I often refer to this pub and recommend it to any servicemen, coach, entrepeneur, and life-practitioner.

I had to read this before going to see the play when I studied in London. Very dry humor, but when done correctly (as it was in the performance I saw), absolutely hilarious. I could imagine it being really tedious if you see a bad performance, or if you read it and you have no sense of humor.

This might be the worst book I've ever read. If I could give negative stars I would. A classmate in London gave this to me. I ran out of other books to read and read it the night I spent at Gatwick Airport, too nervous about my stuff to fall asleep in the terminal by myself. This is a dreadfully awful book, even by chick lit standards (which are decidedly low). Everything is contrived. Nothing is funny. There are points where it tries to be witty that are just sad. I only read the whole thing because all the stores in the airport were closed. I ended up leaving it in a hostel in Amsterdam; the thought of carrying it with me any longer became revolting to me. I feel bad for the poor soul that picked it up and attempted to read it.

Fantastic book. Very good descriptions of what children are like at a given age, what to expect now and next, how to handle doctor's visits, what to do if your child is ill, etc. They copy i have has horrible drawings of kids, though. I think they've changed this in the newer editions. I referred this constantly when my 4 kids were little, and now use her The Portable Pediatrician's Guide to Kids: Your Child's Physical and Behavioral Development from Age 5 to Age 12.

A classic which I decided to read now because it has been sitting on the shelf since I got it as a birthday gift at age 13. Thought maybe it was time to read it! I think it is sort of a young adult book, but it is recommended to both the young and more mature readers. So far, so good for a fun, light read.

This was a funny, well-told story about four sisters who will do anything to stop their father from dating, after their mother dies. This book is cheerful and I couldn't stop reading it. It's a fun choice for anyone.

it was so boring and uninteresting. This is a book i recommend to no one. I would give it a zero if i cud. IT is a book that justs lists princesses and different kinds and how u cud be like them. i finished it in 10 minutes flat (cuz i skimmed..:)) and it was totally not my type of book. But i think this was a informative book and not an actual story which is another reason why i hated it.

This book got me through a dark period health wise with plenty of wry laughs and cthulhu-spawning bureaucratic ridiculosities. Everyone has their own version of "it's X meets Y" comparison for this, but I felt as though if Lovecraft had been a secret fan of the IT Crowd show, he might have enjoyed reading something like this. Great squamous and rugose fun.
