A cute, quick read. Supernatural high school mystery with likeable characters.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It was really neat how it felt like one of those movies like Love Actually or Valentine's Day where there are different characters who are in different places and they are all somehow connected. I particularily enjoyed the gross part where they are talking about unwinding *someone* (if you have read the book, you know what I am talking about) Awesome, intense book! One I definitely will not forget!!!

This is one of those quiet books that sneaked up on me and took hold. It lingered in the back of my mind. It evoked a visceral aching at times. It wasn't all butterflies and happy endings, but rather bittersweet and real. Very well done.

i loved this book about 2/3rds of the time i was reading it. the other 1/3 i just kept reading. the premise is really fun and informative, and especially at the beginning bill buford is uproariously funny. it lost some steam as it went on, but i was still pretty satisfied with it on the whole, mostly because of the kitchen insight i gained.

maybe one or two paragraphs out of the whole 800 some pages are worth saving. ayn rand is a racist, a misogynist, and an irrational idealist. although i see her point, i still say boo.

Pretty good. Off-the-wall and hard to characterize. Kind of an accounting primer, but entertaining, too. I do, however, take offence at Hovey's narrator's choice for most hellish singer. I LIKE Justin Timberlake!

Good GOD! This is in my top-ten faves. I love the way this author makes me want to drop out of society every time I read his books. In Choke, the main character leads a sinister, hidden life. He makes a living preying upon good samaritans, making a part of me wish that I had no conscience and the balls to do the same.

least favorite of the 3 but a must read to complete the series!

Some spookie nigths reading this under the covers
You think that to be rich and famous is equal to be happy? For Drake no. He is a famous song writer and singer, but in the last years his job doesn' satisfy him like in the past. He writes less and every bit of his life are on the media. He was married but his marriage goes wrong cause two weeks after he admitted to his wife that he is gay. But only to his wife. Nobody else knows nothing. He never have had a male partner. Then he receives a letter from a former high schoolmate, Scotty. Scotty only says that he watched him on tv and found him tired. If he want to take some rest, he can enjoy him in his home. An home very isolated from everything. And Drake take some clothes and go. For weeks he rests and writes, meanwhile Scott paints. Scott is welcoming and makes no questions. But Scott is gay, and says to him that in high school he had a crush on him. And Drake wants Scott: his desire his quite but fierce. Scott and his home are paradise, but outside the real world wants Drake back... I like this story: is peaceful. The passion is strong but not sudden. It grows day by days to become indissoluble. http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/22...
