i enjoyed this story about a complicated mother-daughter, father-daughter relationship set in a small town in upstate new york. a good reminder that not all relationships are what you think they are, and sometimes there's more to a person than what you see.

This is seriously one of the best books I have ever read. It is great for people of any age, I believe. It is witty and has an intriguing plot, while even sneaking in some of Walt Whitman's poetry. Amazing!

Awesome! I actually read this one first out of the series and based on it bought the other two. The use of all the actual sources is the best way to write history I think. It really puts you into the minds of the people who were actually there more than any other history book I have read.

I had a huge Andrew Clements phase back in fifth grade after reading "Frindle", so I was interested in picking up his books again. I was not disappointed and though the resolution of the problem might have been trite, Mr. Clements wrote it well. I'm not sure how Mr. Clements gets into teenager's heads, but he does it well. Bobby and Alicia were both believable, though Bobby sometimes felt like a Gary Stu. It was nice to see some parental involvement for once, and a subject that hasn't been beaten to death by YA crazes. Overall it was a nice quick listen that I enjoyed, and made me want to reread some of his other works.

This was the first Jodi Picoult book I read and I think it was a great choice!! Just a warning though if you do not like sad books I don't recomend this book. I wouldn't say I loved this book but if you read the end you would know why but still five out of five!!!

I started this and thought it would be good based on the first two chapters. But every chapter after that was the same: complaining about himself, complaining about his father, unhappy, cynical. I read a few more, then skipped to the last few chapters to see what happened. I think the entire book could have been written as an article.
