I like that this story focused more on Catherine and Gallo than Eve and Joe even though the title is Quinn. I'll like it even more when Bonnie comes out and I can be done with this storyline altogether!

So there is a new trailer out for a movie based on this story and it looked SUPER creepy so I wanted to read the story before seeing the movie and I am glad that I did. I would imagine that the movie version will take everything a bit further but this was a good, fast, and spooky story. A bit formulaic to be sure: creepy lady dies, she lived in a creepy out of the way house, the new lawyer is sent to straighten out her affairs, everyone warns about the house, he goes any way and things get creepy. But it all worked and it is such a quick read that you just get in to it and let it take you away.

I don't read a lot of nonfiction, so it was little bumby getting used to the structure. I also don't read a lot about WWII, but it was interesting and understandably saddenning as the story progressed.

I read the Iron Tower Trilogy back in fifth grade, it was the first fantasy series i ever read. I found this trilogy to be a quick read and enjoyable. Mckiernan is a wonderful author.

I read this book years ago, before the age of reviews, best seller lists and Amazon critiques. I remember just browsing through the library and finding the series and starting at the first book. I liked the story very much, then again I like history and this tells the story of the financial downfall of a dynasty and how they cope.
