Wonderful exploration of the meta-cognitive comprehension strategies that initiate amazing thinking, discussing, and learning in elementary reader's workshops. If you teach K-2 and want even more concrete ideas about how to implement the comprehension strategies in this book, read Debbie Miller's Reading with Meaning. It dovetails very nicely with Mosaic of Thought (the authors are colleagues in researching/implementing these comprehension strategies), but provides specific insight for working with the younger students.

This book is fascinating and chaotic. No one scene can stay for long or be in it's right place. So it goes.

I enjoyed the origin and nature of emotions section. I also enjoyed the sections about politics, Of the Foundations of a State, Of Supreme Authority and Freedom of Thought and Speech.
Essays on the role of the immigrant writer, memory, poverty, disaster (Katrina, Haiti) from one of the most prominent Haitian-American writers. Lots to mull over here.
Great biography! Entertaining and engaging throughout.
His work with the Crime Scene Cleaner crew was interesting but he began to ramble about other stuff toward the end of the book, almost like he had to have so many pages to publish this book. that kind of threw me off the whole thing.

This was a great book. I've read a couple of the pop culture science books. I know they can be hit or miss. Sometimes they are just science books with little pop culture references thrown in at the end of every other paragraph. Sometimes it's blended rather well with the non-science, but the science is campy and elementary. But this book was well done. It was written in a style that was fun for Doctor Who fans, but the science was not lost, and I did not feel like I was being taught in a 3rd grade classroom. I really enjoyed this book. It kept my interest, it refreshed my memory on a lot of theories I had forgotten as well as exposing me to new things I hadn't heard before. If you like (or love) physics, and like Doctor Who (of course), then I'd definitely recommend this. It's a nice simple read.

i like the interweaving of mystery, honest human struggle, and the native peoples culture. listened to this as an audiobook.
Muy interesante historia. Me gustó que Henry escribiera algunos capítulos, agregando su experiencia dentro de los delirios y también la lucha por la recuperación. Definitivamente vale la pena leerlo.
