Beautiful, but very sad. I think I might like this one best of Satrapi's graphic novels to date, although Embroideries was very lighthearted and fun to read, and Persepolis was certainly educational and moving. A quick read, but very worth it.

When you have an author write a series of books that give advice, it is almost unavoidable to hear lines approximating the statement, "As I discussed more thoroughly in my book X regarding Y, ...." We're already reading your book. If we're not impressed enough by it to go and read it after we've finished reading all of your profound, knowledgeable advice on said topic, your pathetic attempts to plug your other book only serve to irritate. Buckingham has put out at least 4 business books I'm aware of, and how often does he do this? Only as needed. His books are not repetitive, they cover summarily different subject matter, and a reference to his other titles is done sparingly and no more than he references other books and authors. I have to commend the guy on that, because I've already extolled his virtues in my other reviews of his books, so I thought he deserved that one. I didn't get this for myself, and I'm not a manager, but I still learned quite a bit. Buckingham knows how to take a topic that has the potential for gross ennui and actually makes it interesting, so I commend him yet again. Don't read Zig Zigglar. He's just as much of a hack as the businessmen that read his books. And if you're politically correct and noticed I said businessmen and not women, it's because I'd hope women would have enough sense not waste their money on the Antony Robins of sales techniques and cold-calling. If you want a good business book, Buckingham, Ram Charan, Wayne Dyer, John Maxwell - these are your guys.

Eye opening book on how your biochemistry can effect a range of health and emotional problems, particularly the endocrine system, and how simple use of vitamins or supplements can boost you back to good mental health. Made me re-examine and become very attuned to what vitamins or amino acids deficiencies could be doing to my health.

Very powerful book. Definitely opened my eyes to the terrible persecution of innocent women that is still happening today in the name of religion. I highly recommend this book - it is one of those books that is shocking and informative enough to reshape the way one perceives the world.

The bizarre tale of both a depressed London cabbie and his disintegrating life and of a post-apocalyptic world far in the future where the cabbie's rantings, preserved in a metal-bound, acid-free book, guide the primitive citizens of future England in an intolerant, misogynistic cult. Other than the near-impenetrability of the future dialect (which is made up of Cockney cabbie-slang reappropriated to the use of an agrarian people) and the cop-out way it ends, it's an entertaining, engaging read.

I've read so many of the Dear America books I'm not sure which ones I haven't read. I don't know I have read this one or not. If I haven't, I'm sure it's very good. The Dear America series is usually very good.

I loved this book. I went into it with no expectations- haveing heard about it (surprise, surprise) on NPR. You never know what you're going to get when the book jacket describes a story set in a Depression-era traveling circus with an emotional elephant, all wrapped up as a love story. I read part of the first chapter online, and was hooked and had to go buy the book. I couldn't put it down, and once finished, I've actually read it again. True mark of a good book if I go back and read it.
