Alice Ở Xứ Sở Diệu Kì & Alice Ở Xứ Sở Trong Gương (Sách Đông A) Thư viện Sách hướng dẫn

Sách được viết bởi Bởi: Lewis Carroll

I first read this book in high school, on the eve of my high school graduation from boarding school. I thought it was appropriate since I was leaving all my best friends for the road down to Texas. After reading it again this May, shortly before my graduation from college, it actually became more meaningful to me, reminding me of the beauty in life, random experiences, and how sometimes leaving loved ones behind is not as traumatic as it seems. There are sections in this book that still freeze me, poetically written passages that consume my emotions and thoughts. I don't want to bring down the quality of this book anymore with my words, so I'll leave you with one of my favorite selections: "I woke up as the sun was reddening; and that was the one distinct time in my life, the strangest moment of all, when I didn't know who I was--I was far away from home, haunted and tired with travel, in a cheap hotel room I'd never seen, hearing the hiss of a stream outside, and the creak of the old wood of the hotel, and footsteps upstairs, and all the sad sounds, and I looked at the cracked high ceiling and really didn't know who I was for about fifteen strange seconds. I wasn't scared; I was just somebody else, some stranger, and my whole life was a haunted life, the life of a ghost. I was half-way across America, at the dividing line between the East of my youth and the West of my future, and maybe that's why it happened right there and then, that strange red afternoon" (17).
