Ok, no surprise, this is one of my favorites. Not just for the words of George Orwell (read his Why I Write essay) but for the originality and force of this concept. I can't imagine what screenplays or films we would have received if GO had practiced in these mediums as well. A strange thought popped in my head here: what would David Cronenberg do to Animal Farm? Viggo as a the boar?!

Another book that I'm going to have to give somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars.

I won this book in a first read giveway. I really enjoyed this book. This book however is definitely a "foodie" mystery. Each chapter was sprikled with a lot of food and it has recipes in the back. I found this a charming and easy to read book. Nothing too surpising but a good read. This book has characters that are (for the most part) likeable and you root for them. This book also seems like a good first mystery for anybody wanted to try this genre

In keeping with a wacky self imposed rule, (you have to read what's relevant to where you are visiting), I took this book on a three week trip to Paris over the Christmas holidays. In doing so, the trip was amazing! The landmarks, the miniature portraits in the museums, the buildings. Everything was transformed back to that time and it became a living history. I would recommend that everyone try this "self imposed" rule. It's life altering! : )

so well written. (although a little dry at times.) very much enjoyed the chapter on boycotting.

I loved this book. Am letting Zoe read it next. Has all kinds of off-hand references to the great artists and famous paintings in a normal everday way of those that lived in the times might have had, as well as great history we can research together more in greater depth. Can't wait for her to finish.

I read this book because I liked Michael Lewis's The Big Short so much. He follows the Oakland A's, one of the lowest budget teams in the league and tries to figure out how they were so successful against high payroll teams (one would think that if money could truly buy talent then all the money teams would win each year) I'm not a big follower of baseball but this book provided me the background I needed to appreciate the nuances of baseball and the talent required to be a big leaguer. It might help me from getting bored next time I attend a game!

Really cute for any hard-core Junie fans. Kinda corny, but cute. Pretty much its a journal (duh) thats is packed with pages that has questions and blanks you fill out. Actualy each page you fill out has a page just like it that Junie B. Jones filled out, which is what I loved about it.

I love this series so much it's my favorite
It was an imperfect ending. It was heart breaking, dejected, jarring and yet completely generic. And for this, it was the perfect ending for The Hunger Games Trilogy. Anything more or less would do it injustice.
