this didnt keep my interest either, as i was reading it some of the things that they didnt made know sense what-so-ever!!! i would say not to read this because you wont be able to understand really understand it, it was dull in the beginning and dull at the end

The book is a very well-done biography, in the form of poetry, of civil rights activist and wife to Martin Luther King Jr, Coretta Scott King. I loved the poem by Ntozake Shange, about as much as her poem for the children's book "Ellington Was Not A Street." Kadir Nelson's paintings are amazing as usual, even my 6 month old enjoyed looking at them. Recommended for ages 7+, 4 stars.

Amazing how having more Lord Akeldama really brightens the whole book up. He's such a fun character. The relationship between him and Alexia is far more interesting than the one between her and her husband. I really liked the revelation in the book.

One of many, many books Dixon has recommended to me, and I'm not sure he's ever been off, at all, in his recommendations. It seemed especially appropriate, coming from him, as I remembered once saying to him how, if I was in the position of having to either kill someone else or be killed, I don't think I could possibly willingly kill the other person (which he respectfully scoffed at, at the time, I believe). There's really nothing I can say to do justice to say how much I liked this book and the argument and manner in which Grossman presents it.
