I think this was my first Danielle Steel book. Can't remeber now. I really enjoyed how the story plays out and takes so many turns and of course, the happy ending! Yeah!

Joan Didion gives a very raw account of the grief she felt after her husband's death. As I remember, she can't ok her husband's wish to be an organ donor. She "magically" thinks that he will need them again. It was just a riveting read.

Even if this collection of stories existed as an idea only, it would still be the greatest idea in the history of humanity. A DOCTOR WHO IS ALSO A NINJA. AN IRISH DOCTOR-NINJA. Does it need to be spelled out? It's great. The premise alone would, you would think, be a one-trick-pony, but it's ably fluffed out here with the judicious application of mustachioed gangsters, breaking glass, pirate feuds, velociraptors and gorillas. Throughout these stories - which helpfully reproduce the image alt-text, so important to its online origin - the reader has the feeling that the author can't really believe that so many people are actually digging his idea. It's refreshing, given the amount of assumed knowledge that exists in some other graphic novels. Really, this review is not going to do any good. I'm not going to convert anyone. I mean, if you didn't start jumping up and down at the thought of an IRISH NINJA DOCTOR, then you probably would never want to read this, ever. But if you did... enough said.

I got this book when the Weather report was crappy, and read it in two sittings.I read the last 200 pages last night, finishing at 4:30am, even though I had to work the next day. Brilliantly written, both a historical novel and a murder mystery of an ancient wrongdoing, and a murder which occurs in the books present, which is late 19th century England. This would be a great summer book, just be sure you have time, you'll want to read it in big chunks.

I learned about his life and his ability to organize groups and his insecurities over his biracial parents. He is a terrific writer and honetly shares his hopes and dreams.

Having read and enjoyed R.S. Thomas's Collected Poems 1945-1990 a little more than a year ago, when I came across a copy of his collected later poems I thought it only proper to pick it up. This book covers his last five collections of poetry, and also includes several poems and fragments that he had written but not published before his death in 2000. Most of my impressions about Thomas's poetry are covered in my earlier review, but there are a few points that bear mentioning in this second collection. "The Echoes Return Slow", the first section of the book, is an autobiography done in short snatches of stream-of-consciousness prose followed by brief poems. These later poems seem to have a more religious turn than those from his earlier collection. Most of the poems have a strongly Christian theme, musings on man's relationship with God and how to make sense of religion and faith in a world where both are often tested. Compared to the first collection, there are certainly fewer rants (so to speak) about the decline of Wales and Welsh culture and language. And though I enjoy Thomas's writing style, with its alternating crisp tones and slow, languid musings, I have to say that I prefer the poems of the first collection. Thomas's poetic voice comes through more strongly, I think, in his writings about the Welsh people. But it's still a moving and thought-provoking set of poems by a very remarkable poet, and I'm glad I have a copy of this volume to complete my collection of his work.

Sequel to Faerie Wars, and very similar. Technology and fairies, a lot like the Artemis Fowl books. I enjoyed it, although a bit too much plot and not quite enough fun.
Great book, very informative. One of my first reads after I became vegetarian. Thanks Joelee!

I enjoyed this book until the end. He might as well said, "And then she woke up and it was all a dream".
