I love Anne Lamott! The beauty of imperfection inspires me so much. This is her recent book about trusting and finding grace in unexpected places. Very unexpected. It's about her story as she stumbles into finding peace in her body and mind. How she's come to live fully in joy and gratitude. Goosebumps, watch out!

A very good book, I enjoyed the historical details as well as the plot.
I have had this series on my iPad forever, and I seem to be really behind the curve in reading it, so I am going to rectify that and start now. :) 4.25* Ok, first I am very happy I waited to start this book until all three stories were out, if I had read this and not known there was more of their story for me to get to right away..I would have been grumpy-Mandy. Brian is a sweetheart and I hate that he keeps thinking he is slow and stupid, he isn't, he might not have 'gotten' a vital part of himself without Virginia's help, but I think that's because he was thinking far more about Talker than about himself. And while I'm at it, I love, love that the girlfriends or ex-girlfriend in this case was smart, sweet, helpful and caring, a positive female, not the vindictive, jealous homophobes we usually get. This book barely scratches the surface of Talker's issues, and I am pretty sure Brian hasn't been left unscathed by his childhood or his guilt for what has happened to Talker. It was sad and made me angry and unhappy but it was also hopeful and left me looking forward to their future. Now off to read book 2.

Ed is a painter, a scenic artist for theaters. After some years he returns to his first job, The South Downs Theathre, where still works Jason, his first real love. But Jase is straight and Ed has never have the courage to admit his love with him. Someone else has chatted about it and Jason sometimes has mentioned something, but nothing has happened. Now they are again together, and Ed's feelings are still strong. And Jase is more willing to experiment with him the sexual delight of gay love. But all their encounters are sharing in secret and no one knows they are lovers... maybe because no one has to know? Above all Jase's girlfriend? I like Ed character. He is romantic and tender, he believes in love and he wants to see all the things good to achieve his desires. He is generous and open. Jase is more selfish. He doesn't understand his feelings and to obtain an answer he uses Ed, he takes advantage of Ed's feelings; luckily, he is in love with Ed, but he behaves coldly, he is not tender. Have you have an hint that I don't like very much Jace character? The story is short. The plot is simple but enjoyable http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/10...

Loved it. This book surprised me as i was not expecting a very gripping novel considering it was a romantic novel with in the end apparent in 1st 2 chapters. The characters are interesting and the entire book is witty & fun. Keeps the reader entertained. Would definitely recommend it.

NICE
Another great story! I can't wait for the next one. Looking back on the entire story from the perspective of a historian was a brilliant idea.

I enjoy biographies of people in challenging or unexpected situations who are faced with choices that will impact their lives. Robert E Lee certainly falls into this category. I am about half-way through this small volume and enjoying Roy Blount’s lively description of this man and his times.

I read this for a class on Contemporary Latin American Artists in the United States. It was a good source-book for some backup information since my knowledge of the subject matter was considerably less than others in my class, for whom Latin American Art History was their primary field of study.
