Where I belong was, in my opinion, a great read. It started out slightly rough but quickly grew on me and I couldn't put the book down. Corrinne was a great narrator that really grew on me. At first I got annoyed with her a few times, how she wouldn't lete anybody in and always complained. But she soon enough changed and I grew to really like her, she matured very well. The characters were all interesting and likable. It was great to get to know them and see the whole family grow and get to know one another a lot better. The two worlds of New York and Texas were completely different and seeing Corrinne take both with stride made her more likable and relatable. I loved Corrinne's grandfather, he was awesome and confirms why people should always love their grandparents. Her grandmother was a bit harsh a first but grew on me and I loved watching her soften. Basically this story is about Corrinne's dad losing his job, and sending his family off to Texas while he works in Dubai to get them back on their feet. Corrinne's world has literally fallen apart, going from awesome shopping sprees, great parties, great private school and of course her horse Sweetbread, to having none of those all at once. Upset at first Corrinne seems very snobbish. But eventually she makes the best of things, and even makes a few friends, Kitsy, Hands, Bubby and Rider. She starts to have a social life, and even a job and learns to drive, things she never thought she would have. She really becomes a part in this small town and grows up a lot. I also loved seeing her figure out which guy was for her and all the steps that helped her get there. Definitely a must read!

LOVED this book. Lots of applicable examples to issues in my life. Very well-written, explanatory, easy-to-follow, and full of resources. Would recommend this to everyone. Love the focus on simple solutions and how we tend to get too bogged down in over-analyzing things or not feeling motivated enough to change something.

i found this on meghan's list and am glad. it's a lot of fun to read, has me chuckling quite often and is such an absurd story that is hard to put down.

the characters in this book and their language run true to Pride and Prejudice (from what I can tell anyways) and it's really nice to have a story to fill in the blanks and tell darcy's side of it. georgiana is developed a little too and overall, i really liked it. great companion book!

** spoiler alert ** I was not looking forward to reading this book, especially when I found out what the inspiration for the story was. However, once I pick it up, I couldn't put it down. The story of Jack and Ma is very heavy on the heart but you just need to read on. Jack's "Escape" was amazing and I was on the edge of my seat. Reading this for my March 2011 book club.....can't wait to discuss it with the others.

Very funny book! I read this book in one day because I couldn't put it down. It's quite entertaining and I enjoyed the way the chapters switched from character to character, telling the story from several perspectives. It is humorous and heartbreaking.
