Read this rather young and fell in love with plural individuality (? I'm making up my own language) When young there is the notion of solitary voice in midst of echoes. Echoes that are interpretationally directive like a forest with mythical creatures but you don't know about that deep down you just know you are moved from inside you act and discover boundaries and for some kid like me I was never willing to accept the wall when I just knew through my will there was something behind that wall. This book was a real life affirmation of what I suspected. There were holes, secret passages after all. The walls were only people and therefore it was all fictions. People have narratives that link themselves to other ones and its arbitrary and illusive. I mean its heavily invested into, but that doesn't really equal "real". My father studied cultural anthropology and really I think exposure to other cultures via the ethnograpy then necessarily original texts and personal accounts helps a great deal to cut through the veils and I don't know wake up (that phrase is cliche, ugh) So I do feel fond of this guy though I think its more reading for kids than adults.

I guess I never wrote reviews on the Roth books I read. Yet... He was one of my favorite American Authors! Retired now... Can't blame him. But ... Oh .., how I'd enjoy new Roth book today!

I purchased this one and Of Mice and Men at the library sale a few months back. Read The Red Pony this weekend and enjoyed it though it did not go as I expected it to.

As a fan of the show, it was nice to find out that the show's creators put out Heat Wave to tie into the release from the show. As the consensus appears to be, and I agree, reading this book is like reading an episode of the show, just with different names, and a bit less wit. If you're a fan of the show, you'll probably enjoy the book in a meta sort of way. While probably not the most enthralling piece of detective fiction you can pick up, it has some interesting moments that you would expect from Castle, just not quite the same charm that exhumes from Nathan Fillion's protrayal of the titular character. I plan on picking up Naked Heat when it hits paperback to both see how the creators may have improved from this book, and to support a show that I enjoy.

This book is the first book I read by Amin Maalouf , I didn't quite expect it though it was highly recommended for me but I really enjoyed it and was passionately wondering what will happen next , though the ending was so hang loose the plot and the characters were so good , I think I might read another book by this author

** spoiler alert ** I think this got me through three or four weeks of work since I can listen throughout the day. I probably won't ever read these again, but they had some fun parts. I think I enjoyed the intentionally humorous parts of the earlier books more, probably because it was all the same type of humor with different words. I am glad that things didn't end really horribly.

My review: When I first started reading Handle with Care, I immediately thought of My Sister’s Keeper. The similarities between the two novels were hard to ignore. As I began to read more, I quickly forgot about My Sister’s Keeper and found myself easily immersed in the story. Charlotte and Sean O’Keefe were trying to have a baby. Just when they started to give up hope, Charlotte found out she was pregnant. Fortunately for Charlotte, her best friend Piper, is an OB-GYN. Despite their personal relationship, Piper agrees to be Charlotte’s physician. This decision will later haunt Piper. Charlotte gives birth to Willow, a beautiful girl who is diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta or OI. Sean and Charlotte devote all their time and attention to Willow to make sure she gets the proper care. When they decide to take a family vacation with their oldest daughter, Amelia, the world as they know it will forever be changed. The events that occurred during their vacation will lead Charlotte down the path, which some may easily say is harsh, unnecessary and selfish. But is it? It’s easy for one to be quick and judge Charlotte for what she decides to do, however the judgment is based on just a small portion of what you currently see. It’s not based on Charlotte’s life 24/7. What Charlotte decides to do, to her, is best for Willow, while at the same time it destroys others’ lives. While it may appear as though this was an easy decision for Charlotte to make, she struggles with it daily. While she’s looking out for Willow’s future, she’s also sacrificing her marriage and the relationship she has with Amelia. She’s also ruining her best friend’s career, not to mention her self-worth. True to Ms. Picoult’s style, Handle with Care will touch upon ethical issues, leaving the reader thinking long after the story has ended. My thoughts on the ending: Early in the book, I knew how the story would end. After I read the last sentence, I wondered if Ms. Picoult did this intentionally. Having said that, the event that occurred at the end, was disappointing to me. All that happened, and this is how the story ended? It was a bit odd to me. I thought perhaps the ending could have remained the same, however the event that led up to the ending could have been different. I don’t want to reveal too much, as I’m afraid I will spoil the ending! Random thoughts: Jodi Picoult quickly became a favorite author after I read My Sister’s Keeper in 2007. Since that time, I’ve been reading her books, with the goal of reading them all (I have six more to read). Nineteen Minutes is my favorite of hers. It was such an emotional read. I’ve attended three of her book signings and encourage all of her devoted readers to RUN, not walk, if she’s coming to your city. She’s fun and energetic and very personable. To anyone who has never read any of her books, I recommend, Nineteen Minutes, My Sister’s Keeper, The Pact, Change of Heart, Salem Falls and A Perfect Match.
A tale based on the love story that led to the building of the Taj Mahal.

I liked this book. Some facets of her story were harrowing and interesting, especially for those of us who haven't been in a mental hospital. Although I have to say, I found the movie more interesting and paced better than the novel.
