http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00140FWZI/?... Merged review: A very strange but interesting book. I can't identify clearly the role of the characters. Imari is the High Commander of a peaceful council of states who is sent to the Casvian's planet to help a captive accused of murder. Imari is a telepathic, so he can read the mind of the captive and he knows he is innocent. Casvian knows something and wants the help of Imari... and maybe also something else. According to the situation, Imari and Casvian are both attacker and defender, strong and weak, giving and receiving. Apparently Imari is the more needful character, but when we arrive to the sex relationship he become the domineering character. In the end this is a shifting novel: a game of exchange between the two men. http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/75...

So to be honest I saw the movie and didn't read the first book. So after that I decided to see what the fuss was about, I love the vampire myth and the stories they have to tell but this? Labelled as some great love story? It's dire and the world is being dumbed down because the writing style and lack of imagination. Meyer seemingly took the premise of the early buffy and angel love story and then took elements from other great vampire movies/shows and tried to call it her own! Bells swan is a moan whiney mare and yes I understand love spins you about until you feel like you're going to explode but really by page 100 of crying and suicidal tendancies I was really beginning to wish that spontaneous combustion would catch up with her. There was never enough emphasis on the danger awaiting bella out in the woods and then it was suddenly forgotton with one phone call? Unaceptable and shoddy! The book is predictable and very poorly written, much like this review but I have the added excuse that I'm typing this on an iPhone LOL

I really wanted to love this book--the premise was so tragic and gothic, and the setting of coastal Ireland so lovely and sad, but ugh. By the end, I found myself skimming pages to see if ANYTHING was going to happen which might compel me to feel anything at all for any of the characters. I felt like I was reading an outline, albeit descriptive, of what the novel was supposed to be when it was actually written. The story, which should have been rife with emotion and character development that made the reader pine for Lucy, her parents, and the young men who set the series of events in motion, was more of a series of "here's what happened next..." explanations rather than captivating story-telling. Meh.

Though not as noteworthy as Goose Girl, I loved how Enna's trials are deeper and darker than the trials in Goose Girl.

Il se lit super vite et presque tout seul. ^^
One of my top ten favorite books of all time. The character development, the drama...I just love it all.
I can't even say whether or not I liked this story. I think I just got a bit... bored with it? I don't know if it was a reader issue for me or a story one, but I just couldn't get into it to stay. I should probably give it another listen once I've done some more of the audiobooks, as I'm sure that listening to the same fifteen minutes at least fifteen times sort of killed the enjoyment mood, as it were.
