This is apparently part of a series, but works fine on it's own. I really enjoyed this - interesting plot and characters. A little long but it was so well-written I didn't really mind.

There isn't enough good things I can say about this book. If you like true, gritty tales, this is for you. WW2 and the Nazi treatment of Jews features heavily in the book as the teens immerse themselves in books like The Diary of Anne Frank. Though a tough book to get through, it was an amazing read. The triumphs and lows of these teens, and their amazing teacher, Ms.G, will feel like your own.

Good but too short to really enjoy. The artwork is well done and there are actually several pages where the art itself propels the story forward instead of dialog which in my opinion is a good thing in a graphic novel. The real downside is that most of the story elements seem familiar. As if I've seen it in some episode of Twilight Zone or something before. It's still not bad.

Even though I haven't liked zombie books in the past, I decided to give this winner of the Fantasy & Sci Fi 2010 Cybils award a shot. This is much more than just a zombie book. It's more of a book about what makes a human and what makes a monster. The first chapter grabbed me and I instantly loved Benny's voice. That action kind of waned a little just after the first few chapters of the book, but things pick up in an exciting and crazy way and don't quit until the end. Fabulous, dynamic characters who you love and love to hate. I love when a book shatters my preconceived notions. This one did.
