While many don't, I loved Nothanger Abbey. I really liked Catherine Morland for being the heroine of her own story. And I love books about women who love books. Perhaps Austen should have left the gothic novels to the Bronte sister and Radclifee, but it is still an excellent read.

OMG this Book and Dr Phils words has so help me. I was at my wits end and i had my fair share of D-I-E-T-S ..... Especially the one's that Did Not Work ! Ok this isnt a Diet by far . Its a Self look at Your Inner person . A look that will Open Your Eyes to finding out what it is in your life that has you bound. It help me go from 233 lbs to 169.lbs not by starvation nor by wont work diets. But by taking a look at other issuse in my life that had me bogged down . Helping me to find the real cause of being overweight . And once i found out what my issues were ...Wow did the weight start to go . This book change my life and the way i saw myself . It Saved My Life !

It was pretty good from a history perspective with a few gaps, but I guess there seemed to be a matter of fact attitude with little on whether it was good or bad. Seems like he could have taken a bit more of a stand one way or the other. I guess he is leaving that up for us to decide. It also seems like he should have covered more on Chernobyl, 3 Mile Island, and Yucca mountain. I would have also liked to hear more about how European countries are doing with nuclear power. Guess I will have to find more books on that.

This Gladwell book was a little different from the others. It was a collection of his columns from the New Yorker on a variety of topics. The others focused on a single topic. It was really interesting and informative. Challenges many preconceived ideas like pit bulls are dangerous dogs. I have one more book to read to complete my Malcolm Gladwell author study. Then I guess I'll have to subscribe to the New Yorker.

I am a woman who doesn't want to have children, so I was surprised to find a book that (sort of) dealt with the subject. I was worried that the author was going to take the easy way out with the plot, but I was glad that she didn't. She takes a look at single women wanting children, married women with children, but in a bad marriage, and a married woman who desperately wants children. Another good "chick lit" book...definitely nice summer reading with a shot of substance.
