Great book; gives a great introduction to the whole hting between the US and Iran for those of us born after 1980. Good read, despite the 500+ pages, it's good prose and you fly through it.

The celebrity children's book should always be approached with caution... This book attempts to get that active toddler asleep by sequentially saying good night to body parts. The idea is certainly not new, and I'm almost certain there are other books that use the idea. The text in this book is acceptable - not exceptional, not terrible. The use of an orangutan by Emma Quay provides a point of interest. The quote from the "grateful parent" on the back about how this book solved all their bedtime battles is a bit over the top!

this book is the reason that i studied brecht for so many years. not because he's a marxist or a ladies' man or controversial but because he just drips creativity and energy and his brain is always going. these are his work journals and they contain more ideas than a whole team of workhorses could ever achieve. i especially like the clipping he saved, writing his thoughts as captions. a guide to his brain and one my biggest influences.

This is an entertaining short read but not really as shocking as some may think... abortion rates affect crime rates? I'm not really surprised. The information in the last 2 chapters is especially interesting, about the correlation between children's test scores and parental identity (vs. parental activity), along with naming practices affecting individuals' economic future.
