I don't even know what to say. This book makes me want to go out and save all the children in Afghanistan. What an awful story of life in that country. It really makes me want to help the people. I do not believe war is the answer, but something needs to be done. What an amazing book. The story is riveting.

I can't give this book stars of any kind. I loved her writing but it was unbelievably sad. I wish I could give it stars for content vs. stars for literary merit. 5 stars for literary merit. It's incredibly moving; I found myself crying while reading it. Not recommended for those uncomfortable thinking about death. Recommended for JCO fans because here is where you get to know her intimately. Try not to flinch.

I thought this was excellent - especially given the current economic climate in the States. Really well written, with great character development - the different historical characters make it fascinating!

i dont really know i think about this...at times it was frustrating because the plot was extremely slow the only action was in the last two chapters...out of the whole book only two chapter that was actually good and quite interesting. Also the book ended with so many questions to be answer which is a good and bad thing because the book didnt explain anything so it was sort of a waste of time. Even though it left me wanting to know more and the plot is interesting but it does drag abit

I thought this book was very enduring/sad. The book first starts out with a young girl by the name of Anne Frank. She was only 13 years old when the holocaust started. Her family had to go in hiding for a very long time (2 years). Also they bairly had enough food to get by because they had another family hiding with them. I thought the climax of this book was when they were caught. When they were caught they were sent to Auschwitz. Then Anne frank and her sister were seperated from there family and they were sent from Auschwitz to Bergen-Belsen.

This is another from my senior seminar that did not get sold back. This collection of letters between separated lovers is tragic and lovely. You can feel their pain and see their personalities on paper just as if they were in your own life. True story.
