Actually, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, but I still love the random facts and all the quirky moments. Since the animated movie version is kid-friendly, I expected the same for the book, but it has some more mature moments. Like someone's head being blown apart by a cannonball. But over all, it's very silly and comic (in a good way).

It took me two years to read this book (I had put it down as a lost cause) but just recently picked it back up when my best friend told me it was amazing. I had stopped reading before it got exciting. The end is totally worth reading, I definitely got very attached. I would probably recommend reading it in less than two years though...

As much I enjoyed both the Little House on the Prairie books and the TV series, I never achieved the full immersion into "Laura World" that Wendy McClure did. However, if you are a fan of either medium, I think you will still thoroughly enjoy Wendy's journey given the light tone and humorous adventures experienced along the way. Plus, you get a fans-eye view of the historic locations (museums, homes, etc.) if you were ever curious about visiting them.

Incredible book filled with that blend of humor and insight I love. For those who, like me, did not like She's Come Undone, this is a revelation. A man raising a schizophrenic twin brother tries to research his parents and grandparents and discovers that much of what he knew about them is a lie. But what makes it special is egotistical diary left behind by his grandfather, an egotistical Sicilian with an overdeveloped sense of vengeance and cunning but hardly any intelligence to balance it. A truly enjoyable read.

This book is an easy read and a good reading experience. I relearned that if I want to master anything I need to put forth the time and effort. I supposed you could "relearn" this point by reading this review, but my guess is this review won't help you internalize it. Outliers helped me internalize that idea with the example after example it shared and in the way it was done. Good read. Oh and I also found it to be a good parenting book. You'll have to read it to find out why.

This book has some GREAT ideas for not only disciplining your children, but also motivating them to make right decisions. The personal antecdotes are a bit cutesy at times, but Lisa really does have a lot of creative ideas. I am constantly referring back to this book as Isaac enters each new developmental stage.
