AMAZING BOOK! I love the format of the entire book, it is not like simple chapters, but more entertaining

I knew how it would end, but I cried anyway when I got there. I know I'm a sucker for dogs and you may be quick to dismiss a dog-book, but it's really a well-written memoir that was written at the request of fans of James Grogan's articles. Sweet, sad book.
i saw this book a hundred times at borders but never thought to pick it up until my sister recommended it. i can't get over how much i liked it... lee fiora is one of those characters who was so relatable and interesting to me when i was reading prep that i felt like a friendship was ending when i finished the book. for me, this book was less about life at a prep school and more about life as a teenage girl. fantastic.

it's been a long time... so impressions: - the ending seems even more implausible than when i first read it tbqh. i suppose that kind of rebirth is triggered off suddenly, but that doesn't make it any more convincing. - porfiry is less of an interesting character than i remember him being - sonya... oh dear. her character offends me so much. - svidrigailov is far more interesting than i remember him being. dostoevsky has a knack for empty characters. - the depiction of saint petersburg is incredible

I thought it was a really awesome book the very middle of it when your in the perspective of Jacob it gets a little boring but I thought it was the best of the whole series
Dress code: aristocratic, but threadbare; velvet bows encouraged.

This book was terrible. If you're thinking about reading it, just take the money you were going to spend on the book and pay someone to punch you in the face repeatedly. You'll be better off.

Had no interest in these stories til I was a teen, then I loved them, and read them over and over.
More great writing from Anita Diamant (The Last Days of Dogtown, The Red Tent). Wonderfully imagined characters, set in the real-life story of the October 1945 rescue from the Atlit internment camp in Haifa. A story full of hope, perseverance and richness of character.
