Wanted to like this but it felt too predictable and a tad sanctimonious. Maybe I"m recoiling from its success (a bad habit). Some nice writing, though, especially of the widow character.

As disappointing as Maxine Swann can be, and as annoying as I already find the tag line for this story, I simply know too much about Buenis Aires to field off a new novel about it! I truly doubt she'll get to say anytthing new or fascinatingly insightful (her many essays on the topic appear quite bland, an outrageous word in the context of mad as a hatter Argentina!) but I'll still read it. And hope.

This book was a lot funner than the first. I really like Jacobs character and his eternal optimism. It was nice to be free of the sweet smell of Edward and His cold marble chest. A man can only handle so much! I cant figure out if Bella loves Edward for his looks and smells or if she truly likes him for his cold personality. Jacob seems like a healthier choice for her. It was also fun to get to know the other Cullens better and to be introduced to the Volturi and see some of the interesting powers that they poses. I am looking forward to reading eclipse. I never thought that I would hear those words coming out of my mouth.

I think this book is targeted for younger readers but I enjoyed it just the same, especially the beautiful cat illustrations throughout. Have just bought it for my 13 year old niece who adores cats and likes making art.

I picked this one up at my parents' house; they both had read and enjoyed it. I like Reilly's column in SI so I thought I'd give it a whirl, and found it to be pretty fun stuff. The chapters on John Daly and Donald Trump are funny, while those on Casey Martin and blind golfer Bob Andrews strike an emotional cord. Reilly isn't the greatest writer of all time, or even the greatest sportswriter of all time, but I like him alright.
