When I read _Fearless_, I kept waiting for a fearless character to show up, or for Digory to transform from a boy pretty much scared out of his wits to an amazingly fearless kid. That never happened! What I now realize is that this book is all about facing your fears, and doing things in spite of your fear. Digory does grow up in this book, faces his fears, and finds a new life. It is an inspiring story of life in early 1700s England.

Read the first chapter, then it had to go back to the library. I'll finish it when I have more time. Who knew, I had one more renewal. So I'm still reading it.

Cute little romance involving demons and vampires, but we never did learn alot about the H and the ending was waaaay rushed. Quite a few details were left hanging. But it was a freebie from Amazon and I got some entertainment, laughter and smexy time so it wasn't all bad. :) **3 stars**

Currently reading this book for my Schema-Focused Therapy Class....basically it says that everyone is screwed up in some way....but it makes sense, very plain English without being obnoxious or super wordy. Works for me and my complex PTSD kids.

On the final analysis I think I liked the second book in this series best. Overall the series was entertaining, quick to read, and satisfying...but not a challenge in any way. They were great books to bring into the bathroom for a morning poop! Seriously though, this final book got way out there and diverged from the story arc of the first two in the series. It does a good job of setting up a following trilogy...Feist is certainly good at making us come back to his world for the next series. All in all a fun series.

One of the things things that I was worried about going into this book was, it wouldn't live up to all of the hype that I've been hearing. I've heard so many good things about this book, I just hoped that it would be as good as everyone was saying, and to be honest it really was. There's very few books that are set during this time, so even just that makes it a good book, but Jillian uses the language from that time perfectly, and it really helped to convince me that it was 1920's and the flapper lifestyle was banned by prohibition. I do like the way the book is set up. One chapter your reading about Gloria, the next about Lorraine, then the next about Clara. But there were times while I was reading that I felt I didn't want to know what was going on with Lorraine. I felt more of a connection and more of a concern of what was happening with Gloria and Clara. For awhile I just saw Lorraine as a girl who dressed as a slut who wanted Marcus Eastman. I found myself reading her parts faster because I just had to know what was happening with Gloria and Clara, but didn't want to miss if anything happened while she was around. The ending is one that I did not see coming. I usually have this sense about how things are going to end, but with this one it kind of threw me for a loop. It does clear up a few questions that were brought up during the rest of the novel, but then it throws in a few more. I think that was a really good plan, because now I know I want to read the second one to see what happens, and I'm sure most people that liked the book will feel the same way. Now I am kind of dying to know if she's going to add the new character she did the epilogue with. Because that would make four people for the next novel, but it would also help to fill in some holes that I've found by running through the story in my mind and questions that I have about them. Overall this was a really good book. I just couldn't get over the fact that Lorraine, even though her story was not meant to be, was boring and annoying to me. It was still an amazing read and should be read by anyone and everyone. I would recommend this book to someone that wants to read either a good book set in the 1920's or a really romantic mystery, or anyone just looking for a good read to be honest. So add this to your TBR list if you haven't already!

This book was a pure joy to read. It is listed as a collection of short stories — and that it is — however, the stories are all related. Among a group of people fleeing Morocco to Spain in a small boat are four unrelated Muslims whose lives are briefly intertwined during the journey. By introducing her cast of characters in this manner, I deeply cared about them — who they were, where did they come from, what happened to them... and Laila does not disappoint. Highly recommended!

Self experience with bunch of interviews. In terms of limits, the author has a quite broad opinion from extreme sports(self experience, I love it) to field track to H-bomb to Rock and roll to Space travel. To be frank, I do not quite like the interview part, although it did reveal something from the witness's eyes.

Nice look at the job of being a prison librarian/creative writing teacher. Avi was able to relate to different troubled personalities in the Boston prison he worked at. He had a lot of "there but for the Grace of God go I" as a "fallen" Orthodox Jew.
