** spoiler alert ** I read this because a guy i know said it was his favourite book. It took me AGES to read it (hello library fines!!). The only thing I liked was some of the descriptive stuff. I was ok with what was happening right up till when the group of guys the Kid was with massacred the indians. Not sure why it turned me off so much as they had described the aftermath of massacres that they had come across and I had no dramas with that. And i had read a bit about the end on wikipedia before I began reading so i was kinda disappointed there wasnt more detail of what happened. But maybe thats part of the point - leaving you to imagine the worst you can think of.

I highly recommend Second Glance by Jody Picoult. It is very different than the other books I have read that she has written. It is a mystery and a very well written one. It thouroughly creeped me out. It is about a piece of land that is being haunted because it is a supposed Indian burial ground. I think that this would be an excellent book club book. It has some very mild language and a couple of adult situations, but nothing explicit.

I liked this book, but it only became a pageturner in the last third, when action really happens. Having said that, it may have been necessary to read the stuff before to really live through the rest of the story with the characters. The female is strong and very easy to identify with - that struggle between what you want to say to your boyfriend/husband and what you should probably say, because he is a man and will not quite get it is one of the best elements of this book. Definitely worth a read if you are looking for something light, but still not The Devil Wears Prada!

Sama ideja-koncept je sjajan kao i naravno psiholoski delovi u knjizi. Tri zvezdice su isključivo zbog stila pisanja, tj. nedostatka istog što je i razumljivo, s obzirom na činjenicu da je reč o psihoterapeutu a ne piscu. Ono što je neosporno jeste da njegove knjige daju novu perspektivu i ostaju zapamćene, barem se ja sećam određenih detalja iz svih do sada pročitanih knjiga. Sve u svemu, vredno čitanja.
