I couldn't put this book down!

(Hardcover, county library edition) Disappointing. Great concept. Too many holes in the logic. Why were some computer driven robots given so much power while others given none? Am I getting jaded by reading so many other books that really rock? (Sure wish there were more.) To finish up... I felt like I was reading a Marvel comic book. This has the potential for being made into a great scifi movie, though, especially in the hands of Steven Spielberg. Imagine that; a movie better than the book. Usually, as we know, it's the other way around.

What a quick, fun romance! I loved it--and that's saying something for a confirmed romance hater like me! Yes, the basic story is a bit predictable, but in the way you WANT a romance like this to be. You know right away who Jillian is going to end up with but the two steps forward, one step back toward a lasting relationship keeps the tension going. There were fun little twists, some corporate espionage, and issues with the "exes" to move your through the story. But it's Julie Wright's writing style, voice and characterizations that really keep you reading! I loved Jillian as a protagonist. She's clever and funny. Her internal dialogue was spot on and got more than one laugh out of me. The supporting characters were absolutely a hoot! Jillian's mother and aunt gave me laughing fits. Her boss was hilarious (unintentional on his part, but totally intentional on Julie Wright's). Her group of friends were absolutely believable. I could totally see this playing like a movie in my head as I read it. The only thing that didn't quite click with me was the fact that Jillian is 28. To me, that seemed just a bit old for the way she thought and behaved. 23-24, absolutely! Maybe even 25...but 28? I just couldn't picture it. So every time the book mentioned her age, I just pretended it was a typo. Despite that, in my opinion, this is Julie Wright's best book! Her writing style and voice is fun, fresh and light. I read the whole thing in one sitting! You'll love this book. Trust me. Read it!

Simple quick read...witty and funny...characters I can relate to...takes place in Chicago and is fun to read about the neighborhood I live in...sometimes the main character is kinda annoying. Stella sometimes adds fantastic events in her books which can either be funny or just completely unbelievable

4.5 stars. It took a bit for me to get into the story, and I found the multitude of characters confusing at first but once I sorted them out I loved this book! So charming :) I adored Cecy and Kate and loved reading about their adventures. Getting letters is something I still treasure and I had never read a book in this format before, I really enjoyed it! It was a good way to allow two concurrent story threads to play out at the same time. It was charmingly Jane Austen-like, which I always adore, and just the right amount of silliness and whimsy- the magic added a little something extra too! And I rather liked Thomas :)
写得很好,编织紧密的故事。 也许我非常享受它,因为我没想到会有什么...?
