This was an odd book and yet I kept turning the page trying to find the story's resolution.I enjoyed the read because it had good characters and a strange but intriguing storyline.A young girl Rose discovers that she can identify emotions in food as she eats it...the emotions of the people who have prepared it.Rose's family have dysfunctional elements and her brother seems autistic. It was an interesting book!
I received this as a Goodreads First Reads book. I wasn't sure how to approach it, as my feelings about Suite Francaise are mixed. I loved the first part, hated the second. But All Our Worldly Goods is sweet and tender and a wonderful novel that wraps you in the story, makes you care about the characters but leaves you seeking more about them than Nemirovsky is willing to provide. I found myself eager to know more about their small town, to follow to other characters, and in the end, I felt for them. It was a lovely book and seemingly a wonderful translation.

I read James and the Giant Peach when I was in elementary school, and I can still remember what a delight it was. Like all of Dahl's novels, it is whimsical, humorous and quirky. It is lighthearted and great fun. Really, I'd recommend any of Dahl's work!

I really enjoyed this earlier work from Stephen White. He engages the reader, keeps the main set characters in each book, but not to the extent that you need to read them all the get the jist of the story. Good flow of details, kept you wanting to know what happened!

This is a stunning convergence of stories conveyed through beautifully crafted images and a brilliant, seemingly non-existent structure. Harding's use of language is spellbinding -- the story revealed between reality and perception, the intimate and the epic, the intellectual and powerfully emotional.
Losing interest.

Wow, Vince Flynn really mailed this one in! He didn't even bother with the ending. He simply set up the sequel. I'm so glad that I didn't spend money directly on this one and borrowed it from my local library.

This had a lot that I'd read in Guns, Germs and Steel, but it was written first.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Say the title to yourself. It sounds beautiful. It is beautiful. I loved this story. The first time I read it I was in sixth grade and my teacher read it to a group of kids in my class, and we all got emotional, even the boys (it's okay guys, you can adit you cried). It was very touching and I loved it so much!
