Well, it wasn't the last page this time...it was the second to last page where the surprise slapped me upside the head! I LOVE that, Jodi Picoult! Love it!!! Great story. Great, very real characters, and I just adore the elements of surprise. Wonderful read.

this book felt a bit like neverwhere crossed with labrynth. it is a good, fun read. that being said, mieville gets a bit dense and unclear in a few places and it slows the book down. i had to take a break and then come back to it. and, while neverwhere and labrynth would both rate as 5's for me. this one is a steady 3. it lacks the sense of magic and originality of both previous works.
