This book was good. Lots of action, lots of plot, lots of things just happening in general. Sure, there were times when it seemed like it was all just too much for one book, what with the whole job thing in the beginning and then suddenly everything being about so much more... sometimes it got to be too much. But there was so much emotion as well, and there were some really key scenes (namely between Vlad and Cat) that really made this story what it is. However, I felt that romance was lacking in this story. It kind of took the backstage to the plotline, and made the storyline a lot less enjoyable, seeing as this is supposed to be a romance book. I found myself getting annoyed that there seemed to be more romance between Tate and Cat instead of Bones and Cat, even if Tate's was always one-sided. Tate got on my every last nerve, just because the jerk wouldn't shut up and never really knew when to quit. There was a flurry of characters too, and at times it became hard to keep track, especially with so much time in between reading each of these books. This story was good, and of course, I forever love Bones & Cat, but I felt like it was trying to cover too much all at once, and as a result, stripped attention away from more raw aspects of the story such as romance. I also thought the ending was a little lacking, namely what happened/how it was written after everything was all said and done, and the format of the ending. It could have ended stronger, but in the end, 4/5 because the action really was fantastic, the emotions really were strong and ubiquitous, and Bones & Cat still really were hot.

Cú Sốc Dưỡng Dục - Tư Duy Mới Về Trẻ Em Thư viện Sách hướng dẫn

Read my requisite 50 pages, and am putting this one down. I may not pick it up again. What makes this harder is that the elements are THERE. It's like a Disney movie version of a romance novel, with a caring and dedicated hero, a damsel determined to be rescued one way or the other, and a whole host of very amusing sidekicks. I really wanted to like this one, especially after I very much enjoyed the author's debut novel, Spirited Away. I mean, come on, it's a romance novel. Not just a romance novel, but one of THOSE romance novels. The kind that you know ahead of time is going to be mushy and implausible, but hey it fills a gap in our lives, right? It's not like I was going into this with particularly high standards. Just looking for a fun read. So I honestly, wanted to like this. But Cindy, oh Cindy, where is your editor? Someone really should have told you that we readers can only take so many sayings of "twas" and "betwixt" and "I vow". And a hero can be attractive without constantly reminding the reader that he would make Hugh Jackman look plain in comparison. Really, it's true! This novel was sent out before its time. I know this author can write. But I think this one was put together with less care, and that's a bummer. Edit: Finally read the whole thing, but unfortunately I have to stand by my original review. It was sweet, but lacked substance. The ending was happily ever after with bonus sparkles.
