I really tried to like this book. I know many people who did but I just didn't buy it. I didn't care for the characters, i didn't like the plot. To me it was a waste of time and paper.

I learned that society must and will take responsibility for engendering entitlement attitudes in its citizenry. Rand is very clear about that lesson, here. I found values in this book (read in my early 20s) that helped shape some of the better parts of my character and probably saved me from some life-altering errors made by a lot of people in the wretched housing markets of the first 10 years of this century. This story is filled with pride, integrity, and the peculiarly American 'Can-Do' attitudes of the 20th century. I also happily learned the answer to the question, "Who is John Galt?."

This was probably my least favorite of the series so far, but it was still a fun read.

I really enjoyec this book. I read it for a study of African American lit and the themes were so interesting. In addition, the ending leaves you wondering what really happened and students will argue over who's guilty of what! It's good!

This was one of my more favorite books by Sparks. Easy, light read that had me wanting to read the last page or two before I finished it just to know what happened.

I always enjoy Elizabeth George's complex plots and character development, enough that I can get past her sometimes overwrought writing. Same is true here.

Yet another Potter book. I think that this was a very good movie, but honestly, I'm less impressed with this book. In particular, I'm not a huge fan of the house elf controversy (which was thankfully excluded from the movie). I'm puzzled why very rich influential white people continue to create characters that speak in ebonics and play up to the horrible stereotype that African Americans still encounter. I suppose when you have Ms. Rowling write the house elf Winky as an Aunt Jemima character that LOVES slavery, than there is good reason that such a stereotype abounds. Disappointing to say the very least. Don't get me wrong, I still love Harry Potter and have a great deal of respect for Rowling.....it's just...as Ron would say, "Come off it!"

I'm not going to lie; I think I always liked the idea of this one better than the execution. Neither Heathcliff nor Catherine are very attractive people and the narrator is as dull as a doorknob. I don't know why I gave it four stars. To tell you the truth I think it's more about the Emily Bronte and her background than anything else.
This girl wasn't the smartest, brightest or luckiest person but she made the best of what she had. She didn't take chances and valued people. She'd never hit the popular tabloids but she ended up being very happy.
