this was a great story on The King Auther story . telling it from the point of view of elaine and her love life ! i was kinnda happy when the first guy she tells she loves rejects her because Tristan was better for her ! i reccomend it for everyone , especially if you are KIng Auther fans !

Every time I read this— which is a lot, a lot— there’s another familiar face I’m thrilled to see. It’s like family. And while I’ve always got this handy to flip to whatever story I feel like, now and then, I just have to get all the kids together and read it front to back. This time, it was “Hurrah for Capt. Early” that grabbed me more than it has before. Damn, these stories are the best. The best. - - - May 2010: Mmm-hmmm. Felt like taking this everywhere with me today and for the record that’s never a bad idea. Also for the record, favorites are “The Tonto Woman,” “Tenkiller” (Ben Webster!), and (of course) “Fire In The Hole.”

A good read regarding Pre Civil War. This book shows us the other side of history the side we don't often hear from, the loser of the war. The people are easy to identify with and show us how and why someone could believe in slavery and other things we may find ethically wrong.

ok, but not great. The author was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma in her mid twenties, and details her issues with the disease. But I couldn't relate with her experiences, even though I also had cancer in my twenties.

Was Jeffrey born a serial killer or was it environmental influences? If you're looking for that answer you will not find it in this book by his father. It's interesting to note that Jeffrey's mother was had a very difficult pregnancy with him and was ingesting 26 pills a day whilst pregnant with Jeff. IMO his psychotic behavior is a mix of biological and environmental influences. Jeff was narcissistic and lacked emotion & empathy for humans. I read this book in two days and kept hoping for some emotion from his father but I get the feeling he has no feelings either.

laugh out loud funny. I kind of felt bad laughing at the character but the situations he gets himself into are both hard to read and funny at the same time.
