Okay, first and for most this was one of those good, fun, light-in-one-night reads. Enjoyable, goofy, I really did not need to think all that much, which was a pretty nice relief after 1984. For the most part I liked Nic, which is a good thing because you should like the protagonist of the book you're reading. But every once and a while she stopped acting like a normal teenager and suddenly was able to quell her emotions and act in a rational manner while those around her seemed to be off their rockers. She just wasn't acting like a teenager, which was somewhat annoying, especially to me, who was a teenager not too long ago, and knows that to act rationally in certain situations is a very difficult thing to do. But really that was the only annoying thing about her. Another thing I was bothered by was the lack of solid conflict in the novel. There were little problems that kept arising, but they were quickly resolved. But I found there was no overall conflict to keep pushing the novel forward, and I occasionally found myself wondering why I continued to read this. Every book needs some sort of conflict to keep the story going, and this book seemed to lack that driving force. There were a few other things that bugged me throughout the book, Coach Luther's sudden involvement near the end when there really wasn't much else from her throughout the book. The two boys fighting over Nic so soon in the book (a few pages in, literally). Small things I was able to push aside in order to enjoy the book. That's one thing you should be able to do in order to read this book, push aside the small annoyances that pop up. If you can get past those this actually is a somewhat fun read, perfect for high schoolers that need to fill a page quota.

** spoiler alert ** I completed almost all series. It's definitely one of my favorite series. Review of the series: So far I am only disappointed in the development of the relationship. I don't expect Toreth to become a model boyfriend but some improvement would be nice. I also noticed that Keir got weaker in the book. In the beginning he seemed a very strong character, but later on, he felt completely secondary and weak minded. He adapted to Toreth sacrificing himself. He lost his spine. I can understand their agreement about half open relationship but I felt sick when they went to party and even after making an agreement of both or neither (having sex with others), Toreth cheated in front of his face hoping to get away with it. He didn't get away with it, Keir saw him and he totally didn't care (which felt strange and out of character to me). I'd care about the lie. There's like zero trust. I want Keir to kick his sorry ass. Just to show that he still has spine. Basically, give me improvement in Toreth or some backbone in Keir. Now I hate Toreth because he is a bastard (a mean one) and Keir for being a pussy. I still love the series :D. That's my only complain. I so hope for some improvement and scared of not getting it I am afraid to read the last three installments.
