I'm not sure how to rate this. I am not even half-way through and I doubt I'll finish the book. I picked this up for a few dollars at Walgreen's one day interested to learn more about Tim Russert. I had long been impressed by him and his optimism and knowledge. I was shocked when I heard he suddenly died and I thought of him several times during last year's election, thinking how unfortunate for all of us that he missed it. He always added so much to an election year. The book is a collection of stories told by his friends and acquaintances that show us what he was like in public and private. As I had hoped and suspected, he was the real deal. Always kind, enthusiastic, making time for those close to him, going out of his way to help others succeed and living life to the fullest. An impressive life. For Tim Russert I give 5 stars. For the organization and style of the book? One star. Granted, it was published by the author but would it be asking to much to find a good editor? Some things were so off-subject I had to remind myself who I was reading about. Each "chapter" was a different person's recollections, but then suddenly it shifts without warning and you are reading along only to find that the last page or so was a different person talking and I found myself going back to figure out where it shifted to sort out who is who. Very confusing. I don't know what happens later in the book because the disorganization was too much of a distraction. I flipped through the photos and called it good. Fortunately, the consensus throughout each essay I read was that Tim was just all around a great person.

This is a book packed full fantastic vampire lists. There are lists on the top 10 vampire myths, top 10 young adult books, top 10 crypts and castles and on and on. The book does much more than simply list of names and titles, it delves deeply into each one, filling the reader’s mind full of fascinating info on their favorite creatures of the night. In honor of Vampires' Most Wanted and due to my love for lists (seriously, I own a few of the Listography books) my review will be done list style! 1. I love that it wasn’t just a boring book of lists and nothing else. Everything listed was followed by a paragraph of well-researched and intriguing information. The author didn’t just ramble off facts though, it didn’t feel like some boring text book at all, but more like a fun and interesting conversation. 2. As a vampire folklore junkie I was pleasantly surprised by the author’s list of vampire myths. She definitely did her research on worldwide vampire lore and created a superb list that was bursting full of fascinating information, and most importantly, accurate information. 3. A wide assortment of films was covered in this book, not just the newest or the most popular. Many movies, old and new, were mentioned. I loved that since it gave readers a new insight into vampire films they may have never heard of before. 4. The author’s choices weren’t the obvious ones, which was great. Take the vampire literature lists for example, of course novels like Dracula and Interview with the Vampire made the list, but so did a few other less obvious books like Kim Newman’s Anno Dracula and Jewelle Gomez’s The Gilda Stories. 5. The sexy vampire section wasn’t bad, but I could personally think of many vampires sexier than the ones listed. But hey, to each their own. 6. As for the lovers section – Buffy never loved Spike, Spike even knew that and said so. So while Spike loved Buffy, I personally would have had Angel and Buffy on the list instead since their love was mutual. 7. There was a fantastic variety of lists, I was expecting nothing more than top movies, top shows and so on, but there were lists on vampiric animals, real blood drinkers, vampire events and much more. And that concludes my list of likes and dislikes. Overall, I loved Vampires' Most Wanted and highly recommend it to all vampire fans. There’s such a variety of information in there that I guarantee that you will learn something new and fangtastic.

I was honestly prepared for the worst. I was prepared to hate it, to want to scream my head off, but I did none of those things. Divergent is everything you want it to be...almost. It may have a few similar aspects as The Hunger Games, but those similarities end rather quickly. You're thrown into this world where fractions exist and not everything is as it seems. Beatrice aka Tris from Abnegation, your protagonist, is likable (for the most part), moody, and extraordinary. Most of the book is revolved around her training when she suddenly switches to Dauntless. The Dauntless who are supposed to brave are more of what I would call reckless. Jumping into trains, off buildings, onto roofs, but Tris is in hog heaven, eating every moment up. The grit of the story is located toward the end, but I wouldn't say this hurts the story. In fact, I never, not once, got the feeling of a dull moment. Veronica Roth is that good. Divergent, is actually a world that is terrifying to me. To not be able to lie and only tell the truth. To not be selfish and only selfless. To not be able to say, "I'm afraid." without consequences. Imagine having to live the rest of your life blocking your real self. This is what Tris has problem with, but even switching to Dauntless doesn't solve her problems. In between training and trying her best not to be discovered for what she really is (not telling~!) she finds a love interest. For me, the romance wasn't fleshed out enough. I felt she liked him, but there just wasn't a time when I thought the romance was truly there. It was like wanting to drink a coke only to find it flat. You want to drink it, but you're just not thirsty enough to take the plunge. I don't have any majors peeves with Divergent, if you forget the major stereotyping of the fractions and that awful friend called Christina. This is one of the best books I've read for 2011. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys Dystopian fiction.
