I'm kind of relieved I finished this book because now I can have my life back. The trouble with these historical thrillers is that I CAN'T PUT THEM DOWN. And at the same time I'M HORRIBLY EMBARRASSED to be reading them. So it can be tricky to always be reading a book you want to keep secret. The Templar Legacy taps into the legend of the Knights of Templars' lost treasure. It's a good premise (I mean, hello, lost treasure), but the puzzles were kind of lame, and the background characters were too confusing to keep track of. I felt like I was trying to see the countryside in a speeding car: I knew there were some finer plot points I was missing, but I'd be damned if I slowed down long enough to process them. All in all, The Templar Legacy kept me entertained, and it probably won't be too long before I reach for another Steve Berry book. Maybe this time I'll craft an alternative book cover out of a paper bag.

Extraordinario final. Sensacional inicio de la carrera del maestro.
Amazing, amazing, amazing - couldn't put it down! The writing in some sections(just a few) is romanticized and almost seems to be included for the sake of the movie that will no doubt be based on this book, but that small grievance can be overlooked, as almost anyone can relate to the feelings of the book's main character, Peekay.

This year I wanted to read a classic horror novel for Halloween. I picked Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. And I finished it last night, drinking tea while the waning moon cast a yellow shadow on my chair... I was surprised by this book. The language, while difficult in its Romantic way, added to the gothic feel of the book. The language wasn't surprising. The story was. I didn't expect to feel such deep sympathy for the unnamed monster and such annoyance with Dr. Frankenstein. Sure, the monster wrecks murderous havoc on the lives of those whom Frankenstein loves, but his reasoning behind it is much more solid than any of Frankenstein's moaning. I loved the monster! And urge you all to either revisit or take a trip to Mary Shelley's Europe!

If I haven't said it enough-I love the Fablehaven series! This book was great-as I expected. Loved the twists in this one that keep you wanting to read more-I can't believe I have to wait another year to read the next one! If you haven't read the Fablehaven series yet-DO IT!

Robin Hobb is such a vivid writer. This was one of those books that was good enough that I could hardly put it down. I found myself so ensconced as to want to read faster, because it was so good, yet wishing I could read more slowly, because I knew I would soon come to the end of it. It ended soundly, albeit I can't wait to read the next in the trilogy. Now I just have to find myself a copy!

Chuck Negron has an undeniable talent. As one of the founding members of Three Dog Night they took the music industry by storm with one hit after the other. He should have been on top of the world except for one problem.....heroin. As a star basketball player he won a scholarship to college in California and lived a clean life, no drinking or drugs. As his music career started he began to experiment with drugs. He was addicted almost from the start. His use was so heavy that he went through millions of dollars and 38 treatment centers. It's a story of survival and coming out the other side of a nightmare lifestyle. I wasn't sure what to expect but his life story was fascinating.

The story of two mid-century Irish country girls raised in "Stone Age ignorance and religious savagery". This trilogy and epilogue chronicles the many loves and tragic losses of these two women in a vernacular that makes this coming of age narrative a most interesting read.

I really enjoyed reading this, and it has been on my list for a long time now. I think it's accurate in the way some girls think, esp. maybe White girls, no offense meant by that. I just mean that the event of feeling excited about a menstrual cycle escapes me, lol. I don't remember feeling excited or anything, it was just something that happened. My friends and I never discussed it, it was never a huge deal. Anyway, I liked the innocence of this book but I disliked the very accurate catty behavior of the girls. Great book, but the religious struggle seemed out of place for some reason. It was very distracting.
