"The blood flowed in the city like rainwater in the gutters after a sudden storm, and the corpses of Turks and Christians were thrown into the Dardanelles, where they floated out to sea like melons along a canal.” Great light reading. Or something.

Sometimes hilarious, sometimes poignant, a fast read about the friendship between a Sioux Indian and a white guy. Great reading. The cultural differences are interesting. I picked this up at the library bookstore for a dollar. Way worth the money spent!

Back in 2000 I read numerous books on Mt. Everest expeditions, starting with "Into Thin Air," by Jon Krakauer. That one led me to this book. Beck Weathers tells the story of one of the most tragic climbing seasons on Mt. Everest in its history. Compelling read. A definite page turner.
I highly enjoyed reading this one.

As others have already said, this book is very different from the movie starring Matt Damon. I think that's OK because both are good if you allow them to stand on their own. To me, this book series seems more realistic in the espionage/thriller genre than the James Bond series. It shows the more horrific aspects in that you don't know who's side anyone is on or even what side you're on anymore. People are alive and killed the next of being alive one moment, killed the next when their allegiances come into question. In the end, you wonder if the main character is going to make it. Then you remember this book has sequels. I would recommend the book to anyone who enjoys this genre.

I'm still trying to figure out how this book is Virginia's epic love letter to Vita Sackville-West. Regardless, it's great Woolf, and a fascinating meditation on gender throughout history. I loved it.

Ash is not my favorite character of the Iron Fey series (I am, in fact, on Team Robin Goodfellow). However, Julie Kagawa adds a few welcome twists that make this book really interesting, and her strong suit is, as always, her fight scenes, which crackle with energy and are written with astonishing precision and clarity. I've thought for a long time that someone should make these books into a television series....

Along the same lines of the 1st book. Though the end was pretty fast and it took a few times over to really grasp everything that happened.

I LOVED this book. Not only was it hilarious at times, I thought his storytelling offered good life advice.
