Best book in the series. The road trip had some funny parts. This book also brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me about how much it hurt when Kisten died. Trent stole this book. There is no one else I will like Rachel to end up with. Wonderful writing.

I read this book about a dozen time. I really like the easy tone of the narrator, the subtly and the details. It tells me how people in authority are usually full of shit and unfortunately, not easily ignored. From the popular kid who thinks he is doing you a favor by letting you do his homework, to the mother who ignored her sick child so she could weep for the characters in the movite, the reader could learn to see through the thin veil of bullshit that authority figures sprout to keep other people lives miserable and down, and saying it's for their own good.

A very quick read, very interesting story. Enjoyed the exploring of different relationships.

This book is fantastic if you want a campy fun read. Just like most of the pulp horror novels of the early nineties, this one is low on substance and character development, but it reads fast has a pretty novel take on the vampire myth. I hope you enjoy it.

I read this for a Literature class in college. It was certainly not the sort of book I would have chosen to read if I were browsing the library shelves. Yet I liked it enough that I went back and re-read it a few years later. I don't remember a lot about it anymore, but the basic premise that sticks with me (and I've always liked books and movies based on this) is how the rest of our lives may be changed/shaped by one seemingly minor incident. I may even re-read it again someday! (at least one required college book I'll get my money's worth, ha ha.)

I love the story. The audio recording is fine. Not the best, but certainly not the worst. I thought Kit sounded too old.

just read this book for class. didn't know anything about the aboriginal people of australia, but now i have a huge heart for this country and the oppression of the aborigines from the british settlers. pretty heartbreaking to read, and there is a movie based off of it as well that i recommend also.

this is a story...there is little drama, little mystery, just a nice story.Nothing hot and heavy, no deep meanings anywhere. It is based on 3 main characters who are in their later years and what is going on in their lives. They live in a small town Covington, North Carolina. It reminded me of the books about Mitford written by Jan Karon. It is OK.
I have been interested in end-times prophecy for a very long time, even going so far as to take a course on it when I was in high school. When the opportunity came for me to review this book, I couldn’t pass it up. I actually have found myself wondering if the antichrist was coming from America – if there was even a chance of that. When I realized that’s what this book was about, I was quite excited. Simpson makes a compelling case for America being the country from which the antichrist arises. He matches up prophecy from Revelations with many other prophecies throughout the Bible – Daniel and Ezekiel, to name two. He pieces it together, showing us just how close the stage is to being ready for the Rapture, then the Tribulation. So many things have fallen into place. So many things are ready. And, as Simpson says, with the huge focus on peace in the Middle East, how can we not see just how close we are to the end of the Church Age? My only complaint is that I felt like the book was quite repetitive. I think it’s because the scriptures are taken separately and discussed on their own. As Simpson explains each chunk of scripture, it reinforces the others that he explains, and inevitably that leads to repetition. I’m not sure how that could be fixed, as I think the analysis of the pertinent scriptures separately helps with clarity. The repetition brings home the point that this is indeed something mentioned all over the Bible. Overall, this is something I’m glad I’ve read. This book is not only compelling, but quite thought-provoking. I found myself talking about it with my husband last night, and I’m planning to share this book with friends who are interested in it. It’s very interesting reading, and quite the eye-opener for Christians everywhere. Jesus is coming, and how wonderful would it be if WE are the generation that escapes physical death? How cool would that be? And if not us, maybe our children!
