This was a depressing account of a family who, under the father's control, move in with the their loveless, vengeful, abusive in-laws. For me, this book signifies courage. Courage to stand up for what you believe in and dig yourself out of the gloom that life has given you.

OH MY GOODNESS ... The most amazing two days of my life this year - hands down ... I can't formulate the words to describe how I feel in writing yet ... so overwhelming. I LOVED IT!
I liked this book a little better than the first. Nina's temper was a little out of control and annoying at times, but she seemed to calm down just the slightest bit by the end of the book. I look forward to reading Wanda's story.

Talk about sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, heart-pumping action in this offering from Peg Kehret...Stolen Children is the harrowing story of 14-year-old Amy Nordlund's first babysitting job. After completing her babysitting course and getting high recommendations from her instructor, Amy is introduced to Mr. and Mrs. Edgerton and their 3 year-old daughter, Kendra. The Edgertons are well off and live in a beautiful house with all the perks that go along with wealth. They do, however, clearly love and dote on their sweet natured little girl. When Kendra's nanny takes an unexpected vacation, Mrs. Edgerton is in need of a babysitter who can care for the girl while she visits her ailing mother in the hospital. Amy is more than willing and ready to make some money. While Kendra is down for a nap, Amy doses by the pool and wakes up in the midst of Kendra's kidnapping. Two men, Smokey and Hugh have planned this with the help of the Edgerton's nanny, Darielle. Amy is caught in the middle and is kidnapped as well. Smokey and Hugh's plan is to videotape little Kendra and ask for a ransom. What they don't realize, though, is that Amy has enough wherewithal and cool-headedness, not to mention intelligence, to plant clues in the video recordings. Her calm actions and timely tips to the police aid in their rescue. Although I knew this one would turn out alright in the end (after all, it is a kids' book), my eyes couldn't read the words fast enough...I was on the edge of my seat through the whole ordeal. This book has been challenged twice in a Pennsylvania school...see Peg Kehret's blog. http://www.pegkehret.com/wordpress/?p...

Typical martial arts instruction book, but very high quality. Also, goes into some depth about the history and theory of Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. I'll be studying this book for a while.
Personally, I feel this book is even better than part one, Twilight. I do feel that Bella is very, VERY annoying in this book and needs to get over herself, but that didn't stop me from going through the book at lightspeed. I'm a big fan of Jacob, and I can't wait to go on to the next part to see what will become of him.

3.5-4 stars. Usually with anthologies, I like a few stories and feel kind of 'meh' about the rest. I actually liked most of the stories in this one, so that was a nice treat. :) Recommended for cowboy fans. ;)

Not nearly as solid as the first, or even the second book in the series. A tidy wrapping up of the story, but it felt kind of forced.

This book belongs to a category of books I read in desperation when I would have considered anything, even consulting, to break the bond. Who writes books that classifies anything into seven's? Who publishes them? Who actually reads them? Lent by Roland, who has broken his bond.
Rarely will you EVER hear me say this about a book. WATCH THE MOVIE!!!!!
