I had totally forgotten, how good this Goddess by Ennis was. I have read this before and remember liking it, but now I truly loved this. This is a real hidden gem. Everybody who likes Ennis should read this. Funny, extremely violent and bloody, witty and with the cast of characters to love and loathe. Brilliant. And the ûber-detailed art by Phil Winslade does not make things worse. Cool stuff.

Caia Ribeiro, a lykan was sent into hiding since she was 7 years old because both her parents were killed by “The Hunter” during the war between the Midnight Coven and Daylight Coven and the elders believed that her life was in danger too. Now 17, she is brought back to the pack and its Alpha male, Lucien. Lucien is hot!! Well at least in my head he is. He’s over 6 feet tall with dark hair and built. What else can a woman want? When Caia arrives at her new home, she is greeted by the entire pack, but soon realizes that she is sort of the outcast. Some of the members of the pack treat her different and she doesn’t know why. She thinks it’s because she was away for so long, she acts more like a human than a lykan. Then she starts noticing things are happening to her and she can’t explain them. She decides not to tell anyone since they already think she is a little off. Soon she discovers why and who she really is and she is mad because no one ever told her nor did anyone explain to her what was going to happen to her. The only thing that bothers me a little about the story is that Caia is 17 and Lucien is a grown man – although she soon turns 18, but still. I don’t want to say too much more because I don’t want to give the story away. If you like lykans, vampires, Greek mythology and witches, then you MUST read this book. Oh dear banannas!! I loved this book it has so many twists and turns absalutely AWESOME!! I'm gonna be sad to read the 4th and final book just because i will miss the characters so much :( So glad i found this series!

Very quotable in places, but it doesn't really work as fiction. The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged both have better character development and show off Rand's genius at working a plot. If you want an introduction to Rand's work and ideas, this would make a good start...but don't stop here.

wow! The beginning pages suggest that in order to see the world with wonder and without preconceived expectations you must either be a child or train yourself as a philosopher. I read this book at quite a young age - I was in eighth grade and I remember thinking that I wasn't sure if I was still a child. It explains everything you would learn in an upper level philosophy with an entertaining story line

A fascinating trawl through the history of social housing provision in the UK since the construction of the historic Boundary Estate in Bethnal Green in 1893. Hanley's account really comes to life in the book's pivotal chapter, "Slums in the Sky" with shocking tales of corner cutting and well meaning modernism. Erno Goldfinger - rehabilitated in some quarters in recent years - is firmly back in the Naughty Seat although a one bedroom apartment in his Trellick Tower will still set you back over £400,000. The book is polemical and comes across as more passionate as a result. The Conservative administration of Harold Macmillan is blamed for many of the ills. The book could perhaps have done with a little more international material - "La Haine" and Chicago's Cabrini Green are mentioned and it is crying out for an index, but overall, this is essential reading. Hanley's most interesting question revolves around the stigma of council housing - why are we embarrassed to have our homes provided for by the state when there is no such outcast status associated with free education or health? That Mrs. Thatcher was a great brainwasher.
