I enjoyed this second novel in the "Inferno Club" series. It began as a Regency romance and ended as an Indiana Jones like adventure. I found Kate, the heroine, extremely likable since she was a self-sufficient, intelligent and strong character. Rohan, the hero, is intriguing and dark as a secret assassin. I look forward to reading the next installment in this series.

Although my area of specialization is not classical Greece, I found the chapters 1-3 especially instructive on the history of the discipline and on the glass ceiling for archaeologists and social/religious historians in the field of classics. Morris' study of Iron Age is certainly thought-provoking,and convincing, although I must defer to specialists in Iron Age Greece (if any can be found who will take seriously the questions Morris is addressing).

This is a good read, but not the lightest of reads. The story starts off slowly and the entire time it is riddled with moral dilemmas. I'd recommend it to people that like novels that make you think and that end well.

I love the character of Jack Ryan. He exemplifies a "real man" in my eyes: someone who is inherently good, loves his family, and is courageous. I read several of Clancy's Jack Ryan books years ago, but found over time that they were laced with a little too much harsh language, violence, and other inappropriate content that didn't fit with my ever-increasing prudish standards. They are great reads though, and I can never get enough of Jack Ryan -- if only I weren't such a prude...

I really enjoyed reading this book and the twists that it revealed. The negative reviews that I read seemed off-base after finishing the book. I was drawn to it because of the title and the cover art. I was hooked by the plot and the characters. A good read for any time of day or year.

Okay, I am on pg. 73. I feel like this guy is knowledgeable, although, when reading a non-fiction for the sake of gaining career related knowledge, I really turn on my "skimming". He is a bit wordy, in that I could care less whether or not the case study student's toe nailpolish matches her shirt...I also wish he would not have combined student personalities into one. I feel like some of it is a bit unrealistic. That said, I do like some of the recommendations/accommodations/treatment options. I took some notes and buy into a lot of them. Particularly the ones related to memory. I will definitely be suggesting some of these. Can't wait to discuss it w/ my colleague when I get home! I know she loved it...

I'm cheating a little on this one. I had to read it for a qualifying exam... and I passed the exam, so whatever I learned from it has been filed away to make room for the info I need to learn for the next exam. Anyway, I remember liking it a lot, but I agree with Emily that you don't need to read the whole thing. Intro and the first few chapters.
