I learned from this book that you really shouldn't talk to strangers or you might get into the trouble that Cloudpaw exeriences when he is taken by a human to a place which I shouldn't spoil. Fireheart is still worried about Tigerclaw and cant him,but hes got someone yanking at his fur....Cloudpaw is tooken away by a human and what does Fireheart do? Read the book to find out!---- Emily r.

My 7th grade English teacher SOOO could have gotten in trouble for reading this to us, but hands down one of the most hilarious non-children children's books you'll ever read. Nearly bust a rib every time I've read it, hahaha!

I've recently begun tearing through a lot of children's picture books, and this one caught my eye. I really liked the central idea, namely that a woman could physically keep the secrets of a village, and the resolution to the inevitable problem. It was an interesting concept, and the pictures were different and gorgeous.
This was kind of a strange book for me. It alters between the main character and a spirit both residing in the same house. I think I have a pretty decent vocabulary, but there were quite a few words I had to look up in the beginning of the story (love that option on my Nook). It kind of turned me off, it seemed like the author was using 'big' words to just use them. But, the 'big' words settled down and it was easier to read. If it hadn't, I would have put the book down and away. It really picked up its pace in the last 100 pages, if the pace remained so slow, it would have received 2 stars from me at most.

** spoiler alert ** This is the only supernatural-themed YA novel that I've rated it 5 stars. Amelia is unlike any other supernatural beings I've ever heard or seen. I got bored of the supernatural creatures that are proud of their abilities after they died(vampires) or inherited(werewolves, fairies, etc.)like I've seen on True Blood & The Vampire Diaries. I made an oath not to get into the supernatural world, but this book totally captivated my heart. Eventhough she's dead, Amelia didn't know her powers as a ghost. In fact, she just kind of give up to find out her past life. That all changes when a handsome human boy came into her life. She saved him by encouraging Joshua to swim with all his might. After she saved him, she began to feel, touch & even smell her surroundings. She became a strong ghost throughout the story. Joshua, in fact, isn't the typical type of human who must do the flee-from-monsters situation. Instead, he accepted her as a ghost at an instant. He really was the kind of human boy I'd be in love with. Funny, smart, determined & though I don't go guys for looks, I've to admit that Joshua is really handsome to me & Amelia. This is definitely the first supernatural book I'm impressed. At the ending, I assumed the story was already finished. However, I'll still read the next sequels to come out during the next year.

I liked it, but I didn't love it. The best part was seeing how selflessly this triangle loved each other. What I didn't like is that the characters weren't very well developed. Things are hinted at, but not described. For example, Ellen (the girl) is evidently intense, and does not socialize well. I could have used a little more development of her personality, since she was the main character.
A page-turner to the end!
I didn't really know what to expect when I started reading this book. Cabot more or less wrote a story to make fun of the Vampire craze most of us have been swept into. I am no exception to that. But I actually enjoyed the story. It did seem to drag on in some places. I felt like things were getting a bit repetitive but I overall liked all the aspects of it. There is, as there always is, a love triangle between the damsel in distress and her two suitors(one "good" and one "bad"). Meena, the main characters, personality was oddly enjoyable. Her independent and head strong personality kept me interested in her throughout the book. Lucien, the bad man she shouldn't be with had all the appeal to me. Sure, he was a vampire and all, but at least he was a vampire who was a bit on the nice side. Alaric, the good guy vampire hunter on the other hand barely interested me as a love interest. Not sure why. I just couldnt connect with him on that level. In the end, I thought it was a good read. If there does turn out to be a sequel, I will definitly pick it up.
