I loved this book. I could not see how the author was going to get these two together. Kasady was clearly a ice queen she did not let anyone close to her and honestly she was starting to get on my nerves. The doctor was obviously just trying to be nice to her but she seemed to be intent on just being a bit bitchy I must say. Let's just say that she was very lucky to have him around later on. I definitely recommend this book

My favorite of the series and my first five star rating, also. This was a freaking fabulous book. Full of great suspense and hot romance, this one goes on my favorites shelf. There was something very genuine about the reluctance of our hero/heroine to having a relationship with one another. Jared is the silent, stoic risk taker of LCR with no sense of self preservation. Mia is a gentle, sweet soul that Jared feels like he needs to protect. He can't see that she can handle herself and can't fathom how Noah let her work for LCR. Now, they are working together to stop a baby theiving ring and to find Jared's ex wife's daughter. Their attraction to one another is appalling to both of them, and they fight, fight, fight it! When the chemistry between these two finally blows up, sparks fly and I swear the top of my head wanted to blow! Not only was the sex passionate, but it was also soul shattering. Sounds silly, but it brought tears to my eyes...Jared's adoration of Mia was so romantic. The eroticism was partially due to how hard he fights his attraction. When he caves, its like watching nature take over...primal and instinctive. Mia is right there with him. While all of the LCR rescues have been worthy causes, this one was about the recovery of babies, which always tends to bring out the motherly instints in me. One of the big differences in this book is that the violence level and the depravity of the villain was much more toned down. No rape scenes, (whew!) and the evilness was there, but not so much that I needed a shower afterwards. This series has been such a solid, guaranteed good read from start to finish. I'm surprised that it doesn't have more followers, and highly recommend it to any fans of the genre. Noah and his Last Chance Rescue squad have become such likeable characters. It's been great seeing how many of the different relationships have progressed. I hope that Ms. Reece continues with at least a spinoff, if not another trilogy. I would love to get a few more blips into their lives!
Great book to remind you of keeping perspective and finding what makes you happy in life. It was very affirming and empowering:)

I give Casino Royale a low rating because it wasn't by any stretch of the imagination compulsive. I sort of enjoyed it, but I could live without it. Which doesn't mean I'm not going to read the other Bond books -- I am, at least a few, because Bond is this huge cultural thing that I've absorbed by osmosis, but only to some extent. The books are actually my first direct encounter with Bond. (Yes, I lived to the age of twenty-two years and two days before I ever had a direct encounter with James Bond. Seriously.) It's misogynistic and melodramatic, and the number of monologues is ridiculous, but there's something compelling about Bond and the world he inhabits. Part of it is trying to see what so many have seen before me.

It's not just about a girl and her dog. It's about feeling alone and different and needing a friend. We've all been there...
Now I feel compelled to read "Alive"

Started reading then stop. Same with Mockingjay I can't find any excitement to finished the book.
For years people had said that this book was "terrific", "a masterpiece" and so I took it off the shelf at home and eagerly started reading to see if the reviews were true. Perhaps they are understated. This book is written by a man that truly understands what it is to be human; he understands grief, love, loss, family, and most importantly, I believe, the subtlties of certain looks, words or sighs. He successfully depicts the the migrant Okies of the 1930's in such a light that allows you to begin to understand what it must have been like to be a starving farmer in America at that time. Steinbeck's simple but accurate and skillful description of the thoughts and emotions of his characters is the best that I have come across in my reading to date. He has a phenomenal way of making his characters alive. Another, unrelated reason I enjoyed this book is because I think it sheds a glimpse of light on what migrant (many Mexican) workers are STILL going through today, a subject that many of us never venture to think about, or, if we do, shuffle it out of our head pretty quickly. Someone is picking the food that we eat.

I've been told to read this book by a number of people. I'm glad I finally did! I wasn't too fond about the fact that they kept jumping around, though the fact that I listened to it on CD may have been part of the problem. It was fun to listen to all the different voices of the reader. I really like the main character and her fun adventures.

This book is an abomination and is legitimate grounds to ban author from ever writing another novel. I hope to God this was a ghostwriter and/or verbally gifted monkey, because there is no excuse for it.
