I picked this up because I want to read Lynn Kurland's story before moving onto the 9 Kingdoms series. I really enjoyed it and look forward to starting Star of the Morning. I had to force myself to finish the rest of the book.

a slightly different kind of robicheaux story - sure, he's still haunted by his past, and sure, there are still lots of bad people doing really awful things, and yeah, the bayou and nola figure prominently. but there seems to be more resolution for our hero in this episode than in previous books, which makes one look forward to what happens next. over all, great fun, probably enhanced by the fact that i read half of it while i was in new orleans (for the first time), so many of the sites, sounds and smells really came to life for me in a way the other books (which i also enjoyed) never did.

not nearly as good as the other susan collins book i listened to (the hunger games), but still entertaining. i think it's aimed at slightly younger readers. anyway, a good bedtime listen.

Disappointing but a one-off story. One or two neat twists in the plot but as I could not agree with the philosophy of the 'Arch-villain' then the conclusion was a real downer.

So, I just started reading this book. It is good. It's about a family that has a lot of issues. The daughter was just raped (which isn't giving away the plot), and it has some comic books stuff in it (the dad is a comic writer for adults). The sex stuff, and other "habits" of a teenager seem forced. Like Jodi interviewed teenagers and plugged that in. I didn't buy that a real teenager was talking. I'm about a fourth of the way through it. Good read so far...

delves in the mind of munhausin by proxy - very potent
Loved the 1st half of this book, but didn't have time to finish before I needed to return it to the library. Ahhhh, overdue fines. Will have to find time to finish it soon.
Though entertaining as always, in Death in the Clouds Christie seems to an extent simply to be going through the motions of writing a mystery story. The characters were slightly more canned than usual, the dialogue somewhat less witty, the ending less of a satisfying "a-ha" moment than in her best books. But I can hardly complain, since it was good fun and took all of an hour or two to read.
