Quick read. Get the second book at the same time as it continues the story. Both are quick reads and could have been put together to make a great read.

as far as ancient texts go, this piece of writing is superb. written about odysseus and his travels from troy back home, it is exciting and amusing. the language isn't hard to decipher (assuming you are reading a translation into english) and it is fun to research the background and the rules that are laid down in this text. the rules that are laid down are clearly the rules that the greeks used to live by. if you like your history, read this book!!

My goodness, what a lovely book. I hope to share more of my thoughts later. For now, I'll just share one of many favorite quotes from the book: "What had Granma Mary Rommely said? 'To look at everything always as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time: Thus is your time on earth filled with glory.'" I predict that I will reread this book in several years. It's a true classic.

I have been in a YA mood lately. This is the third in a four book series ("Secret Society Girl" and "Under the Rose" are the other two). All are fun, quick reads, but not YA, more 'college age'.

When I was younger I read a lot of Lurlene McDaniel. You know, she wrote books mostly about kids/teens with terminal illnesses and either their lives, friendships, or romances that they formed with people. So, reading A Walk to Remember wasn't anything new or unique to me. The book was really well written, though, and if I wasn't reading it next to my mom I probably would have started crying at the end... but I didn't. I sort of wished Nicholas Sparks made Jamie seem less like a saint though. That was probably his intent though, but personally I think I would have liked Jamie a lot more and felt for her a lot more if she had a few flaws. It would make her seem like more of a real person. But, it was still good with Jamie the way she was written. I don't have much else to say. The book genuinely was a good read, but for me it was like an old read. It was reminiscent though of my younger days. I think this is a book that people will enjoy. You probably will be able to read it in a morning just like I did, so it's a good beach read. But be warned... you probably will cry. Oh, and how was the movie? I haven't seen it.

This is sort of the business side of teaching. It's all about how to manage your classroom, which is something I feel isn't emphasized enough. It's easy to understand and use in your own classroom.

This was just a cute and fun girly book! What a struggle it would be as a Gallagher girl who is so "exceptional" yet still want to be "normal." Oh, the joys of teenage years :)
Der 2. Band der Foundation-Trilogie. Dies ist wirkliche Science-fiction.
