This is by far my favorite Vampire Acadmey novel and not just because it is the last in this part of the series. Everything was so wel written. It was quite ajourney (and after a long series full of journeys I was glad to get one so vividly drawn). Instead of tying up all those loose ends in a haphazard and oddly frustrating fashion, it is clear that she had a plan for each and every character from page one, book one. This is the kind of writing that makes sticking with longer series worthwhile. This series (and more importantly itss conclusion) should be required reading for all aspiring paranormal romance writers. Five stars.

There is very little information on Mary Boleyn and unfortunately this book doesn't shed much light on her either. It is mainly about what those around were doing in order to speculate what she might be doing during her lifetime. I give the author kudos for trying but it was not what I expected.

I thought this was a good book with a good story. I think the writer does a good job capturing how a ten year old boy thinks. There isn't much to it that is thought provoking but the book stands on the story alone. I think anyone could enjoy this book but I think children would find the book more enjoyable. I like reading these so that I will have lots of books to suggest to my kids.
perfect for those off to kindergarten or riding the bus for the first time. the bus driver is also a woman and super cute.

Kind of a soppy book. Not one that I would necessarily recommend because there are a lot of other great books. The main character, Lorna, is adorable and very easy to relate to, but by the end of the book your heart strings are torn to the point of exhaustion. Almost too much.

A book for a reading group does give one the opportunity to read things one wouldn't necessarily choose for oneself. Such is the present case. Many have found this book wonderful, the writing splendid, and the topics introduced important and compelling. I do not share this view. I found the book slow going, sentimental at times and wishy-washy at others. Some characters were believable, but didn't get my sympathy. Other characters were just not real (the genius little sister for one). The big questions had no answers. Some may say that that's life. There are no answers. But I am uncomfortable with such relativism and believe it more cowardice on the author's part not to impart a clear point of view than artistry, allowing his creation to wallow in moral and spritualistic ambiguity. Oh, well.
