So this is the second book in a series. The premise is kind of clever, however it really should just be one book instead of three. Cabot pads the novels with a lot of unnecessary description of the main character's thoughts which after a while get repetitious ("oh, my gosh! Why is this happening to me, it is soo unfair!") and tedious to read.

I liked it... But I didn't finish it...It just got boring and it dragged on. I get it, Furnance is a shitty place. MOVE ON! Update* I tried reading it again and liked it a lot more. I even gave it one more star. I even read the second and third one...but then I started to get bored. I would say this book is good for a science fiction lover. Just becuase it wasn't for me doesn't mean it won't be your favorite.

** spoiler alert ** While raeding this book, I really felt as though I had lost a child. The way the author leads you with the main characters emotions is unreal. Although I would have liked a more upbeat ending, the reality was still there!

At least the third time I've read this romp of a novel and certainly most fun reading it with my ears. This is a great listen, you won't want to turn it off.

I am extremely disappointed in myself for not liking this book more than I did. I found it to be no more than a series of nicely-worded character sketches, vignettes & curlicues. There is surely something squalid about my taste in literature.

These was horrible 2 read. Not as bad as The Catcher In The Rye but bad. I remember 2 took me 4ever 2 get through The Hobbit. Didn't want 2 go on but I did. Never would read these again. MOVIES R BETTER!! Even though they left out so much info...it was 2 much info 2 put n2 a movie!!

This book gives the entire lore background to Lord of the Rings in order to understand the original story even better. Fantastic stories. Only problem was that it sometimes felt like reading the encyclopedia of middle-earth rater then a set of stories.

Technically I listened to this (libraries are great!) Definitely a great listen; really drives home the importance of punctuation - and the correct usage of the semi-colon (or, if you're British, the semi-co-lawn). Highly recommended.
