I enjoyed this book-a strong friendship between a princess and a pegasus-love it! At times is was a little hard to follow, new characters were introduced that didn't make sense to me, sometimes I couldn't follow the historical data, etc. but after taking the time to reread the part that didn't make sense at first, I was able to figure it out. I was so disappointed to find that this book will be a sequel with the next book not coming out for another year.....I always dislike having to wait to read the next in a series because then I forget so much and lose the emotion that I had while reading.

This book was AMAZING. Ms. Skloot did an excellent job of nailing the black-speak given by Henrietta’s family. I was equally gratified with her ability to provide just enough back-story to engage us in not only what her cells became, but who Henrietta was. There were times very early in the book that I found myself weeping for this woman, whose story, though I’d never heard it before, was somehow familiar to me. I was infatuated with the world surrounding HeLa, the name given to Henrietta’s cells. Cells that eventually were used to develop vaccines and medicines for cervical cancer and HPV, flown into space, and blown up in atom bombs. I would encourage anyone with a passion for good story, medicine, and a trip down a rabbit hole, to visit the library and check this book out. I was severely impressed. Informative, Well-Written, Engaging, Well-Researched, Health-Conscious, and Passionate
Great book! I love all of her books. It's a long time between now and next January for the next book!
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. You get to learn about Frank Loyd Wright and 1900 society. Just don't look up the story on the net first, you'll spoil it for yourself.

I remember this book to be pretty good. Very similar to "Joy Luck", though.

While studying French at the Alliance Francaise, I started reading this book about Sarah Turnbull's spontaneous trip to France which turned into a permanent stay. While at times I found Turnbull's character to be bordering on obnoxious, I could sympathise with her plight as a struggling Australian expat coming to terms with a French partner and a lifestyle where she would always be considered foreign. Despite Turnbull's negativity, the book did make me want to visit Paris again and see for myself if what Turnbull says is true.
Hardest to get through. Dragged on and on.. So much dialogue. Back and forth teenage love affair kind of making me not interested in the next book. I am surprised I made it through this one. I might need to read a book in between. Reminding myself "Why am I reading this series again?" I am unsure of my answer... maybe because everyone else has or is... or because I bought the books already? Hmm... Can't wait to talk to my friend Anna tonight (who actually is from forks and her family is still there) about what the twilight lovers are doing to that small little town in the cascades. I saw some pictures of the re-vamped (no pun intended) city. The red bella truck, forks high school, the twilight tour van, they even have a parking sign for Dr. Cullens car! Are we all mad?
I really can't rate this book. It's very exciting, and I'm sure many kids will really like it. I just don't happen to be a big fan of fantasy stories. I could see as a child reading it, I would be on the edge of my seat, wondering what's going to happen next or how Twig is going to get out of his latest predicament. As an adult, I just found it tiring.

an afternoon spent in the library, with an unbearable weight, and so to read the unbearable lightness of being. is getting old the only reconciliation?

Stealing Jenny will keep you on the edge of your seat and probably destroy your sleep pattern as you stay up to find out what happens. But beyond being a great suspense, it’s also an excellent example of morals in action and family life redeemed. As a fan of Ellen Gable’s work already, I’m now officially getting a t-shirt!
