Don't let the fun cover and title fool you, this is one serious book. Filled with teen social anxiety, contemplations of suicide, and familial strains...this book covers a lot of ground...but does it so well. The writing is so real and truthful. I especially liked that the ending in which not much was resolved and yet, I still felt oddly satisfied (and that doesn't usually happen!).

Beautiful illustrations, and a good cross cultural/religous overview of reincarnation and rebirth.

S Forbiddenom sam isplakala rijeke suza, ovdje ni jednu. Knjiga me uopće nije dirnula.

I wasn't sure I'd ever find a book I loved as much as travelling mercies. I love the irreverance in her love for Christ. But Plan B speaks even more to me - from the essay on frustration with being a youth group volunteer to the treatice on her thighs. This book is without compare.
Like coming home to Havemercy - Jaidani have struck the right blend of characters this time, and I can't wait to see their next novel.

I have been a reader of her books since she started writing. She always weaves a magical element into her books. This one traced the history of a town and it's people. A little quirky, fun and sometimes sad. In some places it felt a little dis-jointed. I would have loved to have seen a family tree at the end of the book.

Twilight meets Lord of the Rings in this enchanting tale about a witch named Diana, who unleashes all manner of problems when she requests a certain lost manuscript in Oxford's Bodleian Library. She joins forces with Matthew, a friendly vampire, to discover the manuscript's secret and unlock the spell cast upon it. But not only is the world in this story inhabited by witches and vampires, there are daemons too, and they all want their sticky fingers on this elusive document. I thoroughly enjoyed this tome of a book. I thought it was a fascinating, compelling and intriguing read, quite a page turner and definitely good fun to get my teeth into. It was well written with an intricate and, at times, fairly complex plot. The main characters were likeable and believeable and I found myself being completely drawn into their world. It's very much an adventure story with a fairy dusting of romance. Highly recommended for those enjoy a tale of fantasy and sorcery. I believe this is the first in a trilogy. I am, therefore, looking forward in impatient anticipation to the next spellbinding instalment. If only I had a magic wand.......... Wicked!
really enjoyed reading this book, about a newspaper set in Rome and the people who define the paper from the editor and chief, stringers, readers and writers. Each story is told independent from each other and of course all intertwine but in a way that keeps the storyline intriguing and not confusing. Each chapter was strong on its own and i would have read a whole book on each story.

Favorite lines: 1. "What's the difference?" "Only the difference between truth and lies, courage and cowardice" (593). 2. "Perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well" (718). 3. "Do not pity the dead. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love" (722).
