I loved this book! It was the perfect way to end the series, and give you a great ending, with again, a great message. I always wondered if they would go back to Ember for supplies because it seemed like it would make sense. I loved how there was a little something extra for the people from Ember to help them in the new world, and how Doon figures it all out. As a "happy ending person" I was glad to see Lina and Doon together at the end, and to get a glimpse into the future of their great grand kids and the world as it would be. This series really makes you think about how the state of the world is now, and what it will be like in 50 years, and even later on. I laughed so hard at the names Trogg gave to his family, naming them after the ancient cities... New Yorik, Minny-Appelis, Scawgo, and Kanza City.

I've said before that this series as a whole isn't the best one I've read. I will say though that this book, City of Glass, was fantastic! It was definitely my favorite and the best book of the series. well done! :) That being said, I'm going to stay far away from the rest of the books. I think this book did a great job finishing the series, and I'm happy with the ending, so I'll leave it at that.

Just finished the entire trilogy. I have to say, I don't get the hype. The story was ok, but just not my type of book.

I'm teaching this for the 3rd year in a row, but I thought it was time for a refresher. I seriously love his imagery!

Before it was besmirched by Mr. Brown, I would have admitted to a weakness for ancient conspiracy theory trash set in glamorous European cities; weave together the Cathars, the Knights Templar, say, and some Masons of some kind, throw in a love interest and something ominous and threatening and voilà, good fun. Of that genre, this is easily the most rewarding and the most erudite

A heartwarming little book about a father's words of wisdom to his children during the last few months of his life. Makes me want to learn and acheive my greatest dreams such that my future children too would feel inspired.

I was not a fan. I vote no for Printz Club. If nothing else, it was very much a girl book. You can judge for yourself when we trade, but I suspect it won't be your favorite either. (By the way, do you like how I pretty much just write straight at you (Nia) when I'm on goodreads? I suspect the only other person who reads these is Rebecca.)

This is my first Nicholas Sparks book, and most likely my last. I guess I am just not a romance novel kinda gal. I suspected from the start what the big "choice" would be. After suffering through 14 chapters of them falling in love (which took place over 1 weekend), it finally got back to the choice. Maybe it is just me, but how interesting is it to read about what type of olives fictional characters eat on their picnic? If this were a true story, I would be very happy with the ending. As a work of fiction, it was boring.
